I'm simply another girl
Trying to piece together her life
In this screwed up world.

I know that sounds cliche
You may not believe me
Or you just may.

So this is supposed to be about me.
Continue on
And let me know
If you like what you see.

I don't know when and where
To take a risk or take a dare.

I'm nowhere near perfect
But about that thing called love,
I'd like to think I deserve it.

I give way too many second chances,
My heart and spirit need a partner to dance with.

My friends are my constant
My never ending support group.
Even when life get's crazy
They're the ones I can run to.

Family is a strange concept to me.
Despite the fact that we’re blood,
We are not as close as we should be.

Some call them words,
I call them friends.
Reading and writing;
A page and a pen.

Sunshine means so much to me.
It has this warmth you see
That keeps me from complete insanity.

Memory’s a sketchy thing
Like an old silver bell it can clearly ring.
Or like driving through a rolling fog
It can be patchy and scary
And hard to hold on.
But what I want
Is to never be forgot.
I want to last
A legend from the past.
Even if I am simply a story from
A far away time and place.
Then that’s ok with me.
As long as someone, someday,
Will remember my name and face.
