Hello
It's been a while, how have you been?

ANIhIle In reply to ohmy-x [2013-01-17 09:10:12 +0000 UTC]

Time is the destroyer of great empires, through winds and waters, it all erodes.

I turned 20, and it's been a while (sigh). Nothing is logical but somehow everything is related to eachother.

Busy have I been, lost in the meadows of unwanted courses, infinite questioning and endless procrastination. All flooded by the lunar rays of regressive thoughts, of wishing to be born again. The internet makes it sound so dramatic, but the end of fate is still unknown, best news so far.

The projects that we grew together are still in ferment in my multicolor abstract-shaped piece of brain that gets all the energy but none of the control over my body. At some point we will make it. It is hard to be reborn each day, and to reconstruct the whole thought that we build ourselves upon, to re-find this extreme edge at which we stand best and feel living.
A word given is a word kept. Everything is possible with an infinite amount of time. We just have to become immortal.

Now that I said all the obscure, irrational thoughts that weighted my head, I can be back to the normal human being I am mostly known to be : How have you been yourself ? How 's been life ? Feel free to express here, you will get no judgment from a stranger ^^ By the way, best wishes for the new year !

Ah, I couldn't agree more. Although, the way that you phrase all this is much more poetic than my words, I do know what you mean (or at least, my own relation to it).

It often feels like the things we care for least, like the courses and the problems and the menial jobs, take up the most of our time and energy. It's really a rather depressing thought, but an unfortunate truth. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well though, despite the dullness of every day life.

I am okay, myself. I'm trying to spend all the time I previously spent procrastinating on getting reconnected with art, so having time to draw and paint each day is making me happier. Besides that, the new year's brought nothing too horrendous, so I can't complain too much.

How about you, any interesting endeavors?

Yeah, I so evolved to that way of thinking, that a balance in things is still the better; I even start to enjoy having dinner with mere old people, I used to hate their gabbling about nothing and their fakened, unconscious opinions but I understand that the message of the conversation is not what matters, I concentrate on the medium and so connect with them, although intellectually not satisfying, Time goes, and with it, we ought to live. I often think that the thinking that we are losing energy makes us lose more energy than we would be without it... That thinked, that's even more enery lost... ^^ To organize too rationally, aiming at ideals and concepts in too ordinary daily acts, is difficult in society, I guess it is a necessary loss to not get insane.

To start getting a discipline, I chose a course of nude and animation (movie), it is a good way to impose a time to do things and do it. Although a solitary experimentation is necessary, sometimes, doing things in a group, can be, for some, a stimulating experience, without excess.
I am reading Scott McCloud's essay on understandig comics, which is quite interesting, if you ever get your hands on it, I recommend ^^

So that's the most of my achievements, for now... Have you had similar plans of structures, or thinked about interesting constraints again, have you linked your inner motives to some of the real world ?

Although I can't assure you of my responses, due to most of my time being consumed, would you still think of little exercices, or thoughts we might practice on ponctual occasions ? Of what to pursue an exchange, and to occupy our minds in the crowded places where nothing is to be made but our brainy spirals functioning and in our swirled notebooks drawing.

Oh? May I ask who? Due to a desire for total anonymity, I won't confirm or deny it; I just want to know. The funny thing is, I did indeed watch you on my old account from quite a few years back. But I think my style has evolved drastically since then, and all of the works from this account are from a complete fresh start.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ANIhIle In reply to Dustier [2012-05-17 14:46:27 +0000 UTC]

Ahah ! I shouldn't have said this! I know that people want to be reborn, freed from their older bounds that they would find in people they knew in an older age... So, even if you quite confirmed me who you are I presume you are (I have not so many watchers), I will pretend it's the first time we've ever met ! ^^ What do you say about this ? (in case I'm completely wrong, I thought you reminded me of first column, fifth from down in watchers list). So I won't ask how things have been and if you do well at school and please your parents etc... ! ^^ (annoying conventions).
I jump on this occasion to propose you to collaborate to the weekly exercise that I just started with ohmy-x, I didn't ask her, but if you're interested, the more the merrier (actually it's focused on comics/cartoon learning... maybe that's not your cup of tea, I don't know. Have a funny day !

No worries, I understand if you're curious. Yes, let this be the first time we've met. How do you do?

Collaboration! How exciting! What sort of project is this? I've always been interested in comics, I have several graphic novel ideas lined up myself...though it will be a while until I get around to them. Tell me more, I might join if I'm not too busy!

ANIhIle In reply to Dustier [2012-05-19 22:55:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm fine thanks (that means I'm very depressed but that the media system would make me feel guilty because people on TV are so really hurt and I can't be unhappy when I have a standard of living, and that I'm totally alienated and that I'm coping only because everyone around me is so, soon I will melt with the world and be one in all but that's the good part...)! And yourself ? (lol the only way to not say one is bad is not to answer).
For the exercises : each week (or so) one of us gives an assignement to fulfill for the next week end, and the only thing is that it must be comics/cartoon related : for the moment we have made : one page narration, charachter study, backgrounds, and we're starting a new one soon. It helps to develop the different parts in a comic, not all at once, so that when we 'll have the "real" project (the one we always say w'll make but every time we sit on a table to begin it ...), this way, it will seem less like a harsh wall of iron stones !
If you have any time you can catch up with our latest assignements , the only thing here is to considerate things in the logic of a visual narration etc..., no need to produce neat, finished works ! we'll have plenty of time for the details later !

...Wow. What an intriguing analysis of your own emotions! Though you should never feel guilty of feeling, whether it be good or bad feelings - we can't help being who we are, so the best thing to do is to just embrace it. I am not bad, haha, just enjoying life and being creative. I'm really trying to push my artistic envelope and find my own art style, so this weekly exercise thing sounds awesome. Though I don't know if I'll join in the "real" project when you guys come to it. Again, I'll have a think when I become more familiar with it. Where are the prompts and assignments?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ANIhIle In reply to Dustier [2012-05-20 14:08:49 +0000 UTC]

Well I have thousands of analysis multiplexing around me, this one just popped out and one shouldn't give it too much importance. Anyway glad to hear that from ya.
Good thing about being creative.
The "real project" is, for the moment nothing of a collaboration though it may be. As you said, it is the many stories we write solely in a corner, and projects that we say to ourselves would make a good comic and that we have never done. Here the point is to improve on little bits of skills necessitated by comics. If you want to think on what we have done, there were the assignements (I put the links to what we have done, but if you want to make it, you don't have to look at it, or else you 'll be influenced):
-one page narration involving coffee dream and waking up without words. [link] [link]
-the second was to make studies of a charcter of our own, with different angles, techniques.. [link] [link] [link] [link]
-the third was to draw 3 backgrounds [link] [link] [link] [link]

And the next one we thought that you could give us the next assignement ! What do you say ? (and don't worry about this, it is not very formal, everyone has another life and deadlines are mostly not respected ^^)

Dustier In reply to ANIhIle [2012-05-21 15:16:01 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see, I think it's a great idea to develop comic skills bit by bit as it's a huge task to dive right into making one without practice. The stuff you guys have done is quite cool. I'm honoured that you would let me choose the next assignment! Hmm let's see... how about two drawings of one character; one of them is how he (or she) presents himself to others ordinarily, and the other is his true "inner" self (you can go crazy with the symbolism and abstractness, give him demon horns and six eyes or whatever). I'm not sure if that's relevant, it just sounds fun. No deadline, I am the slackest person on the planet when it comes to personal projects. Cheers!

For this week's challenge, how about a character focus?
I was thinking we make a page for a character we create and work on likeness and diversity of poses, expressions, etc.
Sound okay?
