Read AMoH and I loved it so I went on to TAoGY and was soo upset when I got to chapter 15 and that wasnt the end. I hope that you will get on one day and see how much your fans miss you. I hope all is fine with your health and that you're still writing even if you're not posting, you're so talented.

I just discovered AMoH. Finished all of it in 2 days! Started reading the TAoGS and noticed that you left off very abruptly. You don't seem like the type to just drop off the face of the FF. So, I hope you're OK and whatever it is you're dealing with is going well.

Then I thought maybe you didn't love Avatar any more, that was more plausible, since Avatar is marginally less awesome than your fanbase, but, I figure that is unlikely. It still rocks pretty hard.

I'm not dead. I'm buried under tons of work.
As it happens I do have a real life job because I made the huge mistake of graduating and becoming one more in the hordes of well-paid miserable people who roams the earth.
And then ... and then my personal laptop died on me three weeks ago, taking with it all my past (I've been moving my data from computer to computer since I was 14), and all my efforts (5 chapters in total) of the story I'm writing about Azula and her hybrid/mutt b/f.
Since then I've been debating if I want to recover my bad poetry from my college years, as the people who does data recovery (b/c I was too lazy to do back-ups) are worse than Somali pirates and want to charge me blood-money for my memories.
The depression of my lost data (together with the fact that I cannot do any shenanigans on my work laptop, as it is property of my stuffy employer) got me wondering about something that I've been wanting to do for a while: career change. As in: I want to quit my job and walk the earth and find alternative means of supporting myself and my writing, short of turning tricks at the corner deli (this is suburbia, no shady corners to pick up johns...).
(True story: my sister beat me to it. My mom called me a couple of days ago in a fit b/c my sister asked my parents to support her b/c she wants to quit her job and stay home for a while. My mom was really offended at the idea of paying my sister a salary just for the honor of being a daughter. While my mom is ranting, all I'm thinking is that my sister has a point!!!)
Anyway, there you have it. Recession hasn't hit my team, by the contrary, we've been really busy since January, my laptop stole my past, and I changed obsessions for the last couple of weeks.
I read a book called "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", fell in love with it, then got the sequel (which has not been published in the Americas) in Europe (I went there for three weeks last month) and got even more smitten. Yesterday I downloaded the movie (Swedish, dubbed in Italian) and watch it obsessively today at work instead of doing my job (yay!). Of course the third book in the series is out next month in Spanish and Italian (in the UK is out in October). So I'll try to download the Spanish or Italian version as soon as it's out, or buy it through Amazon Espana.
As it happens, on my best Katy Perry impersonation, I've a crush for the first time in my live on a girl. The Swedish actress that plays the socially-challenged main character is the sickest-sexiest thing I've seen in a long time. My man won't understand this, but I know you will. If you happen to have time in your bookstore, pick up the book and read it. It's a bit slow at the beginning, and then the middle-age main male character is the Gary Stuish-fantasy-alter-ego of the Swedish guy who wrote the book (starting with the fact that he beds every female that crosses his path. Geek gets more action than George Clooney, apparently).
But the female heroine, an introverted punk tattooed hacker, is totally smexy and cool. And the actress that they cast in the role is perfect. [link]
I started re-writing my fanfic, motivated I guess by the frustration of the loss. But I'm in the career crisis that I always knew was coming, I just was not expecting it so early! (darn, the only thing I like about my job is the high salary ...)

Yay!!! I'm sooo glad you're not in a coma!!! If you were, I would have had to road trip it down there, find your hospital, and played Avatar DVDs in the TV in your room until the power of Tophgod revived you.
That sucks about your computer!! Jeez, I have an external hard drive because I worry about that stuff . . . If I lost five chapters, I would take a break too.
I've seen that book, I was waiting until it came out on paperback before I checked it out, but if it comes so highly recommended, I'll have to thumb through it!!
