If I have seen it? Code Geass has my MOST FAVOURITE ENDING EVER! And the only ending I have seen so far that has me almost crying. The road to that ending was great too. In terms of the mecha part, it is second to Neon Genesis Evangelion in my opinion. I usually don't like robots. But NGE and Code Geass have both managed to package it nicely enough so it doesn't bother me. And unlike in, say, Gundam, the robots actually look very nice. Anyhow, the mental and physical battles are amazing too. And... well, I love Gode Geass. Let's just leave it at that. n.n I just wish I was able to do more fanworks about it. I have four or five things in progress, but still... I guess that goes to show that the story is already great enough that I don't have any blanks to fill in with fanfiction. n.n I think I'll try to draw a few more pieces about it instead.
What about you? Have you seen it too? Or did you ask because you're considering watching it and wanted an opinion?

Well, not really. At home, I rarely treat myself to an Eve beer. On rare occasions even a normal beer. When I went to visit my relatives in München, Germany, I also drank some beer when we went to have lunch in one certain beer garden. And I do enjoy on or two glasses of wine when I am invited somewhere. But otherwise? No. And aside from too much alcohol not being healthy, it's not wise for me to drink too many alcoholic beverages because I have a heightened blood sugar.
Ah, I see. n.n So you like Misato, but your waifus will remain Asuka and Rei, have I got that right? And sure, Shinji is tragic - but so is basically every other character in Evangelion. I mean, Asuka for example has experienced the only thing even worse than neglect by a parent (like Shinji did): Her own mother had gone so insane that she tried to strangle Asuka. And while Shinji has lost his mother in the Eva experiment, Asuka had to find her mother's body after the latter committed suicide. And while loosing one's mother is always very sad (I know how it feels, cause I lost my own too), I think when you put it in perspective, Auska has the worse lot of the two.
And let's not even start on Rei, who is apparently treated kindly by Gendo, but is in the end nothing but a clone, a tool to be used, with her memories being lost with every time one of her dies.
Hm... I personally don't really feel that Shinji is a message of sexism and gender role. (I guess you meant gender, not gendo?)
I see. My own office is still in home office. Which in our case means not so much to do for myself. Until now, I spent my time doing one, two major projects her at home (and it feels really good now that I'm done). And until June, I'm going to do some smaller things, but mainly write tons of pages of fanfiction. I especially want to type in as much hand-written stuff as possible so I can get rid of the paper. Do you know when the uni is supposed to be re-opening? Is the situation in America still so dire? Here in Switzerland, things are luckily calming down. And I dearly hope we're not in for a second wave.

Hm... actually, there is not that much I enjoy outside of anime/movie/game soundtracks. Mostly it is singular tracks I stumble upon. Though, I do enjoy several pieces by Nightwish. And while there are genres I don't willingly touch (like Country or all those metal genres where they more scream than sing), I can't say which particular ones I like. It depends on the song, I guess. Oh, and there are some classics I do enjoy too - like It's my Life and so on.
Well, I have heard of Fushigi Yugi and Cowboy Bebop. They never caught me enough to watch them, though. Escaflowne I did watch, even did a fanart on it. n.n It should be here on my profile, if you wanna check. I really like it - though I think it is a story that didn't exploit its full potential. And I'm actually still split on the ending - the exact opposite of Inuyasha. I'll give it that it came a little surprising and did revert expectations, but whether I like it... In fact, I want to write a story where Hitomi actually does get back to Gaia. But I have not yet enough of a picture of what I want to happen in it. T.T Oh well. Gotta work on my other stories in the meantime.

I did hear of her. And though I never watched it, I also have heard of this one particular movie she starred in, Breakfast at Tiffany's, which seems to be rather famous. What brought her up, though? You a big fan of hers?
Hey, Asuka in Sagittarius Cloth?! Now that's something I'd like to see! Perhaps even attempt to do it myself one day. n.n Actually, I'd love to try all my favourite Sagittarians across anime in the Sagi Cloth. Lee, Sai and Dan from Naruto, Shingen Takeda from the games Ikemen Sengoku and his version from the game Samurai Love Ballad Party, Sailor Jupiter / Makoto Kino, Lelouch from Code Geass… and of course Asuka. Her red hair surely will fit nicely with the gold. I even want to try Mercy from Overwatch in a skin that is based on the Sagittarius Cloth. I thought it would fit since both have wings… Ah well… someday I will try. At any rate, I am looking forward to what you will upload. n.n Asuka in Sagittarius Cloth sounds damn nice. And why not try Rei in the Aries Cloth? She and Mu are both unusually calm for Aries.

Ha ha! I appreciate it! n.n And you actually made only one mistake - the ihnen is actually written with capital i. Ihnen. But I guess for anyone not grown up with German, the capital/not capital topic as well as the matter of formal/informal in addressing another person can be rather complicated. n.n"
The informal version of your question is "Wie geht es dir?", btw. n.n
You is btw one of the few words that annoy me - because it is used both formally and informally. While in German, we do have two different words to differentiate. It's just so weird to address, like, the president of the USA with the same word as your friends and family. Ah well… I guess every language has things it does better than others, eh. Because, guess what, there are things I am actually better at expressing in English than in German.
Oh, and if you need any translations or any help with German, do ask me. n.n I'm happy to help.

Anyways, I forgot to mention one other thing. One of the reasons why the COVID virus has the death toll it has is also human stupidity. I remember reading about a particular guy who posted videos claiming that all the COVID stuff was fake or something.
Doesn't help.
And that's just one of a host of examples I could list how stupidly people at certain places have behaved which aided the spread of the virus. And I while I of course don't know any details, I think some governments also flopped in their reaction to it.

Busy? You working in the medic field or something similar? I myself have been stuck at home since the middle of March, and our office doesn't reopen until April 30. But since I work at a place with A LOT of people who fall into the high risk group (myself among them - FUCK HIGH BLOOD SUGAR/DIABETES!), anything else would be more than foolish. I'm just glad that here in Switzerland, we did get away rather well. I mean, if you see what's going on in other places like Italy or so... with all those horror stories of people abandoned in old people homes or where the hospitals are overrun… I feel so with all the medics and other helpers who have to deal with all of this. I wish them all the best and lots of strength.
As for the Apocalypse - there have been plagues before. If I remember correctly, the Spanish Flue alone killed multiple times more people than the COVID currently. And the Black Death killed 1/3 of Europe. Sure, there were less people back in the middle ages, but 1/3 is still a high rate, no matter how many the population. I don't know about it being the horseman's work - but no, I don't think it's the Apocalypse. As I said, similar stuff happened before. And since viruses do evolve too, I think there will always be one to pop up and hit mankind so hard. Who knows - perhaps such outbreaks are some kind of a population control Mothe Nature?

You know what's funny? I am myself currently rewatching Evangelion on Netflix, almost finished (episode 23, 24). And I like Asuka a lot too, though I wish she was less violent, more like her Campus Apocalypse version. And I wish she would have had more time to shine; for being praised as a genius, she wins remarkably few battles. But I guess the story requires it... otherwise, she wouldn't have had her poignent breakdown at the end. And I somehow wish she could have been good friends with Rei, because I do feel for both of them. And it hits so hard that Asuka wasn't actually being so far off when she called Rei a puppet. It's just so sad that the Rei who seems finally to become more than just another clone, had to sacrifice herself, and with that her memories she had attained until that point.
As for the movies… I'll see which of those I'll watch afterwards. I remember one movie being basically just a compilation of what happened during the anime… and I don't need that.

Asurei? XD Hah, that's perfect for anyone who can't decide between the two!
As for me... well. I like the both. In her own way, Rei is as tragic a character as Asuka. Though, I am biased towards Asuka. With her being a Sagittarius like me and what not, and half German (… like me. n.n"). Not only that, she also has the same Western/Chinese Zodiac combination like me, the Sagittarius Snake. Damn, the only thing missing to make it perfect were if she had the same birthday as me. Alas, that's not the case. Actually, I share it with Rock Lee from Naruto.
Aside from that… The thing that also helps balancing the scales for the two girls is that they also have their annoying side. I have to admit it: Rei is too passive for my liking, while Asuka is too trigger-happy and violent (in that case, a character that's a mix of them both, does make sense as the perfect fav). I think my favorite versions of them is the one from the manga Campus Apocalypse. Do you know it? Have you read it? If not, a minor spoiler - Asuka and Rei are actually good friends there. n.n Also, Rei is less passive and Asuka less violent. If you haven't read this manga yet, you should, especially as long as the shut-down gives you the time to do so. It's not even that long for a manga, fitting into a single, very thick omnibus volume. It does give the entire story an interesting new spin.
Lastly, I wish they had portrayed Asuka a little better. I mean, she was praised as this genius EVA pilot - but do we actually get to see any of that? Not really. As soon as she arrives in Japan, it is most often Shinji saving the day in one way or another. Sure, it might have been necessary to make her mental breakdown plausible. But still - couldn't we have gotten a bit more badass Asuka before that? Hell, she would have even lost her first fight were she not accompanied by an entire army fleet!
Heh, I know a little about the movies (I think I even watched them sometime). But I'll come back to them when I watched them.
Btw, what do you think of Misato? Between Asuka and Rei, I think she is too overlooked... And Shinji. What of him? If I am informed correctly, there are quite a few people finding him too annoying.

After watching Passion of Christ I tried self whipping with a belt just to see how its like. Hurts like hell and I barely made it to 39 times! I'm not doing it again anytime soon!
But have you ever tried any smaller mortification of the flesh like wearing a hairshirt?

o.o
I think that is among the last things I'd ever do. I barely even manage to prick myself in the fingertip to measure blood sugar. And giving myself a syringe with an appetite damper is only possible because I know that it usually doesn't hurt, fine and short as the needles are. But I do have my struggles with it as well. So no… I'd never even as much as dream of doing such things. Not even the "lighter" ones.
And I think self harm is never the solution. Perhaps one or two extreme situations are the exception. But I really cannot think of anything that justifies self harm right now. Be it in religion or outside.

Ever been to a an anime convention or any other convention (fantasy, sci fi, martial arts, etc whatever)? I attended one of the more famous ones in my country, a local GalaxyCon. Guess what? I met the voice actress of Azula in person and she did some lines from the TV show! ! Fucking awesome to meet a voice actor from one of my favorite series of one of my favorite characters! Also bought a fanart oil painting of Sailor Jupiter sold by a vendor at the event.
Pretty ironic she's quite chill and jolly unlike the Firebender princess she most infamous as playing as!

Well, I've been to the Japanimanga Night in Davos three or so times (I fear that it is dead now, though; last year, they had apparently lacked the money. Which is a shame, for last year would have been its 20th anniversary). And I've been to the Aki no Matsuri in... ah, can't remember the name anymore. They have both been relatively small compared to other conventions, but not bad either. I've been able to see some great Cosplay as well.
o.o The voice actor of Azula?! I don't like the character, but damn, it's nice to meet the who gives her the voice. Congratulations on that lucky meeting. n.n
Ha ha! n.n And that's why you never should assume that the person behind the voice has the same personality as the character. But that only makes her an even more awesome voice actor, to make her voice do what it does to display Azula.

They made a remake series last year. Its still ongoing and the second season is about to be released. Its more faithful to the manga and it intends to adapt the whole manga from straight to finish unlike the old 2001 series which stops at volume 8 (23 volumes total).
So I think reading the manga is a better choice instead of rewatching the whole 2001 series. Esp since the manga is now completed and can be available online and like I said they started a remake series just a few months ago (starting around September months earlier IIRC).

That's right! Thanks for the reminder. I knew that this remake existed, but I forgot it. Ought to watch that, then. Perhaps I'll watch the old series until the next season of the new one comes out. And only vol 8 of 23...? Wow. But at least it got more than Saint Seiya the Lost Canvas... -.- still makes me so angry. The best drawn part of all Saint Seiya (the manga that is - it's better than anything else in the franchise. In terms of anime, the original isn't that much worse, especially later on) and the second-best in storytelling, and it got only 26 episodes before it got cancelled and they came with Saint Seiya Omega - which took me a while to get used to, which doesn't speak for its design choices. Let's hope Fruits Basket manages to pull through.
... *goes checking*
Wait. WAIT. The original FB only has 26 episodes too?!!!! WHT! Then it's exactly as bad as Lost Canvas! T.T Why does the good stuff never get completed? Fruits Basket, Lost Canvas, Bleach... Sigh... At least Naruto stuck to the end and has even a next gen running. And for Bleach and Lost Canvas, I still haven't lost hope yet that SOMEONE will have the mercy and complete them.

Are you familiar with Bazi? There's far more to Chinese astrology such as month sign, day sign, and hour sign as well as the way the elements intereact with each other and somuch more.
I was born Year of the monkey in the month and day of the Rabbit and hour of the Pig. I will get deeper into Bazi soon but I'm too busy irl to do any advance studying...
All I will say was the reason the original Fruit Baskets didn't get a second season was because the creator hated it. Won't spoil it but there is a lot of major differences (the first series even completely changed the nature of the curse and the overall plotline only superficially following the first 8 volumes). Even the parts it animates faithfully changes the tone and spirit of the series (all I will say is the manga is much darker than the first series even early on).

I didn't know it's called Bazi. But I knew that there were signs attached to month and days and hours, too. I even calculated them once, but since I'd fogotten what I got, I had to recalculate. So I was Born in the Year of the Snake, the Month of the Pig, the Day of the Rabbit, the Hour of the Horse and the Minute of the Dragon. Oh, look at that - we both were born on a day of the Rabbit. n.n And Year of the Monkey, eh... I really gotta read up on the Chinese Zodiac some more. The only sign I do know about is of course my own, the Snake. But I really wanna know more about the others too, just like I know stuff about the other Western signs besides my own.
*reads on*
Oh. I see what happened here. Fruits Basket got the same treatment as or example Sailor Moon or Saint Seiya, where things changed drastically between manga and anime. I don't know if the first Sailor Moon anime even had 50% of the manga stuff in it. And Saint Seiya has large differences too. Some are really, REALLY annyoing (like the part with all the 100 orphans being half siblings in the manga), while other, mainly the character designs, were better than in the manga. Ugh, if I even only think about seeing some versions of the Bronze Cloths from the manga animated makes me wanna vomit. Like the second or third version of Pegasus, or the first Cygnus Cloth with its stupid chest piece.
Sigh… I think, if an anime diverses so much from the manga, I think it's a question of how well it's done if it's successful or not. Sailor Moon for example was incredibly successful, despite adapting so little from the manga. Fruits Basked unfortunately seems to be on the other side of the spectrum. I wish I knew what the reason for stopping Lost Canvas was...

I do, but none of the ones mentioned above. One of my favourite live shows is The Blacklist. It has its flaws, but damn does Reddington give me Hannibal Lecter vibes. He's quite the fascinating char and his actor does a marvellous job. I watched a couple of others on Netflix, but none have really gripped me. I remember Navy CSI fondly, though. I don't have time to watch much anyways, and I also watch Youtube a lot - even watch WoW Let's Plays, though I'd never even dream of playing it myself. My heart belongs to Elder Scrolls Online.
In terms of series I'm watching, I still watch mostly anime. Live stuff so far just doesn't grip me as much. I watched a few episodes of Walking Dead, but I had to stop because it just didn't interest me.
As for The Office... because of the reasons listed above, I don't really know. I never watched it, so I can't really say anything about different versions. In any case, I bet here in Switzerland we'd have the version from Germany.

Got a few live series recommendation which I think will suit your tastes.
First of the Starz Spartacus series. YOU will definitely LOVE it! Won't put spoilers but its a masterpiece. Going up there is The Last Kingdom (based on a series of bestselling novels by British writer Bernard Cornwell). If you have netflix you probably will have this series available. Very gory and dark series. Also The Tudors (though I'm not sure if its available on Europe's Netflix). Very dramatic telling of England's monarch and their conversion to Protstantism History's Channel's Viking should be available if you subscribe to Hulu and really it reaches Game of Thrones levels of darkness in a realistic and epic historical setting. Also a very good fictional introduction to accurate Viking culture.
At the bare minimal don't miss out on Spartacus. The show is so popular that even if you don't subscribe you can easily find episodes on random streaming sites. Really some of the best sword fighting choreography I ever seen period in any work of entertainment and the writing is top notch especiallyt he characters.
If there's another motive for you to check it out....... One of the actors from The Lord of the Rings is in it! He plays the primary big bad for half the series! Guess who? Hint its an elf who dies midway through the trilogy . Its worth acting just for his role alone as Glaber because he fucking nails it and makes you like him very much despite being a complete utter fucking asshole. Very multifaceted evil villain and its no wonder why they chose him for his role in LOTR.
I actually seen a lot of good stuff to talk about lately but for now I'll leave it here. The Starz Spartacus is the one you must not miss.

Well, it can be very cold here. Unfortunately, it has been a rather dry and a little milder winter, with temperatures at certain days reaching almost 50. Otherwise, it seems to be pretty similar to your place, ranging from around 30 or lower up to around 40.
So you don't like winter? n.n" My opinion is that every season has its good and bad points. Like, summer is awesome for being outside and wearing light clothing and bbq. On the flip side - it can get too hot for me very quickly. Anything above 75 I struggle with. That's why I prefer lower temperatures. Which is why the cold doesn't bother me anyway~ You know what I'm hinting at, right? No, seriously, I only struggle if it gets really, really cold. That's the drawback of winter, as is snow on the streets, which can give public transportation some headache.
Btw, it's snowing just as I am writing this. For the only scond time this winter. Ah, for clarification: It's snowing to the valley floor. Up on the mountains, it naturally snowed much more often. But today, it's snowing properly and everywhere.

LOL typical Germanic genes eh? Being dark skinned and a mix of East Asian and Austronesian (though the Chinese genees mostly dominate albeit dark skin), I actually like Cold Weather and hate hot weather. The problem with winter is too cold esp when it reach the 20s. I tend to prefer Fall as my favorite. It starts getting chilly but you can simply still wear a single layer of weather or a very light zipper jacket and often it feels good to come out wearing just a shirt in the cold! Oh I forgot I also don't like winter because it gets dark very early as far as 4 where I live sometimes (averaging around 5:30) and it often takes up until 8 for the Sun to start appearing again on an average day in the morning.
Its ironic while the weather has been chilly this month it hasn't snowed yet.
I honestly don't like Summer though because of how hot it gets here.. Even withd ark skin it still burnsand don't get me started working out in the garage without AC where its like suffocating in a greenhouse!

Probably. n.n Though, I am relatively warm-blooded for a woman. After all, women usually have thinner skins than men and thus are cold faster... Hm... dark skinned you are? Well, I would also say that it indicates you'd have less trouble with warm weather. Then again, I suppose it also depends on where you grew up. If you grew up where you live now, I guess you're automatically accustomed to the weather. Yeah, I prefer spring and fall too. Though they too have their downsides; it's so easy to get ill if you're not careful. But the moderate temperature sure are the best. Yeah, the long nights... I know, right? It usually means getting to work when it's still dark and going home when it's already dark again in the evening. It can give me the "winter blues", though this winter, I don't have as much trouble with it as I did in the past.
Hm. Same here. Though now the snow has arrived; it's actually snowing as I'm writing this. Unfortunately, it's a rather wet snow, and apparently, I picked the wrong boots when I bought a pair, because the wetness gets through. I'll have to waterproof them again and see if its better... wet socks inside boots suck. Otherwise, I don't have a problem with snow. Except of course when it gets the public transportation... well... "derailed". No, seriously, as great as our public transporation is, if the weather is too extreme, it can get problems.
Yah... I guess dark skin only helps that much, huh... Certainly more helpful than white skin, but not a universal remedy either... And the worst is if the heat is coming from inside. At least it feels to me that way sometimes. Not the warm air is the problem, but I start heating up from inside, and then I almost don't know how to cool down again. Perhaps you know the feeling when doing sports in higher temperatures. When it's the heat produced by the body's muscles that is the problem, heating you up from inside, and not the outside heat.
Response to your other comment will follow later.

You asked me already in one of your two previous replies. I answered it there. And rl is hell for me too, right now. Damn, I cannot wait for holidays to start on Friday. It's been crazy at work the past two months. And still is. Boy, did some of us earn their vacations.
