Oh yeah, I love it. I just started replaying it for the PSP and I'll tell you what, it's just as awesome as I remember it.

One of the best turn based strat games ever made, and it deserves more love.

It really does, I don't understand how it was shadowed by the lesser of the final fantasy series.

Mostly because it came out near the same time FFVII came out and there weren't many copies made initially because of that.
At one point the game was selling for $120+ on ebay, if you had it new and wrapped? PFfft you'd get a lot. You probably still would get a lot.
I still got my original copy, I always come back to it.
Nice to see another fan of the series finally, everyone is always talking about Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem..lol. It's alright. The only other series that I truly enjoyed like FFT was Tactics Ogre for obvious reasons. And yeah, i can see how coming out under the shadow of FFVII could really kill a game.
I still have my FFT copy for ps1, i bought the download of the ps1 version for PSP and i love it, truthfully i cannot stand the lag in WOTL and the two extra classes aren't worth the lag hate.

Yeah I don't get the fire emblum love either, it's a good game with some lovely art but I'm not a fan of a enemy getting 2 crits and killing a character forever and that's it. It's literally the game saying screw you and nutting you.
I wasn't going to bring up WoTL because I have a lot of negative feedback for that game, mostly a lot of needless added stuff and the gameplay being ruined because of it. We didn't need FFXII characters and tying in the Tactics Advanced series is not something I consider to be a good thing.
The PSOne game was amazing, as is the PSN variant. Funny enough the WoTL version on the ipad either has super slowdown or the newer ipads goes too fast.
Apparently pirates fixed the slowdown on PSP, who knows.

Well if it was dealt with from the get go no one would be having this problem, but it just goes to show that game developers just want to push games into the market as fast as possible. No one wants to wait for a finished piece, they just want some ragged semi finished crap and then they all hope the modders will come and fix the issues, leaving the developers off the hook. It's sickening.

Well the trouble is with a lot of the console games is there's no mods or patches. Patches for 360 games cost something like $60,000. So that's 60k for a patch/update, so it's a little confusing why these sorts of things happen where they'll "patch it later"
I think it's the accountants, worrying more about 100% during dev time and the time it takes to get to $$.
I really don't blame devs, I blame the ones holding the money for devs. I don't know recently it's felt like a lot of games are just soulless cash-ins. Most recent fun game to me has to be Darksiders 2, loved 1, love 2, really fun little series. Maybe bias because I enjoy Joe-MAD!'s work, super awesome artist if you didn't know.
What was the most recent game you really felt had ...uh..soul? Effort? That's new or you recently found.

Alazul In reply to Gx3RComics [2012-09-04 17:40:56 +0000 UTC]
Well, I think you are right, it's the people holding the money. I personally love anything that Blizzard comes out with, all of their stuff is really well done, and yes buggy at first, but remember all their new games have to run off of a server, which means there are going to be issues at first. I loved the Starcraft series, the Diablo series, and of course, i dabbled in WOW I know MOP is coming out this month, so I will be looking forward to that.
Another interesting MMO was Starwars I thought it had a lot of heart to it, and was very cool, personally loving all the single player Starwars games, like KOTR and whatnot.
I have a hard time loving shooters, but I must admit one saga has really got me going, and I know you are probably cringing thinking its something like COD or Battlefield, but really it's the Army of Two saga, both games were stellar, and the customization although not possibly real at all, were fun. The shooting was dynamic, and it was nice to have to worry about things like aggro and taking adequate cover. There is a new one coming out, and I am really looking forward to it.
There are others I am missing and there were some hopefuls that really missed their mark, Cursed Crusade had the ability to be great, and was miserable. Games like Fallout, and Elder Scrolls, awesome. Fable was decent.
The best, and I have to stand by this, just because of its awesomeness, was Metro 2033, when i played it the first time I actually had to stop it was scary. Weapons are good, but don't always secure your life, it was great, the idea of watching your filters, and your gas mask can break. There were some down sides to it to be sure, the shops were kinda so so, and there was no customization which you would expect in a nuclear future, but I even went out and bought the English version of the book to read it. I loved it, and I won THQ's contest and got some neato stuff.
I know it's long but i could go on and on for hours about these newer games. It's frightening how well people like us know these games..if only i knew my school work as well. ahah

While I love Blizzards art and their style and they make great games and all that I'm very upset at their DRM choices and I'm fairly angry at them. Diablo 3 was a huge bust for (well my friend since he bought 2 copies to play with me).
I can't comment much on MMOs as they're far from my sorta thing, closest thing I enjoy is Torchlight/Diablo...and only with friends.
I grew up on FPS titles, however I've not really gotten into the super modern ones with ULTRA REALISM. They're boring, I'm told they're faster than health pack games and I'd like to just say play Duke Nukem 3D and say the combat isn't faster. You're not stopping for a break every few minutes to hide behind a wall. FO-New Vegas was good, 3 I felt was too easy even hardest with mods.
Metro was really really good, I was surprised with how that was. Oh congrats on winning then! haha that's awesome! What'd you get?
Yeah I hear that, I actually had a bit of a moment of stupid realization that I think games were sort of responsible for. When making the protagonist of my comic I was trying to think of a sidearm to go with her swords, and a 9mm pistol was off limits because I was like "that's so weak who'd bother"
I actually had to take a step back and think; it's not something based on power...it's a gun, it shoots it's powerful in it's own right. I was thinking like it had some sorta stat to it haha. I still do but I'm not thinking it's useless or whatever.

Applying video game stats to a firearm is awesome LOL. Suddenly for whatever reason in your mind, a 9mm is no longer deadly because everyone knows you have to unlock the deagle, and if you really took the time you got the 44 mag. hahaha. Don't worry 9mm come with those extended clips hahaha.
I guess I'm missing what you mean by DRM Blizzard, I'm probably just tarding it up atm.
Yeah for Metro Last Light, I won a shirt and two posters, along with a gas mask and the carrying case for it. All i had to do was blog about what i like best about the game, and i won. It wasn't the grand prize, which made me cry but it was the secondary one that ten people got.

Freeze!
Why? 9mm pistols pffft I got a sword plus 3 to slashing and cutting! >:U
The DRM being that you have to be online to play their games. I understand they're trying to build a community with less cheaters but an offline character that you can't bring online would have been really dandy to have especially in the beginning where I couldn't play 95% of the time.
That's still some awesome loot and impressive placing. I've never won a thing in my life so chin up!

Yeah I know what you mean by the DRM now, and yeah a lot of times it sucks cause you can't just tinker around, and then people are joining yo shit and whatnot lol. The real money auction house, don't make me lol.

Gx3RComics In reply to Alazul [2012-09-05 05:15:02 +0000 UTC]
That's what keeps me from enjoying the game, so its just not something I'm interested in even having really when they pull that crap. Ubisoft was king of awful DRM with limited installs that would actually slow your PC down even when the game wasn't in use.
Meow meow meow, point: I greatly dislike DRM and don't like buying into titles with it. D3 was good fun and all but had my friend not bought it I'd never have myself because of their nonsense.

Diablo 3? Beat it through with one character.
I'm guessing much more mileage out of the $20 dollar torchlight 2. Actually given that it was bought in a 4 pack for 60 I think it's more like 15.
If it wasn't a little obvious I have a massive hatred toward DRM

Thumbshare is you go to the thumbshare DA forum topic and share your thumbnails, which is easy since a link is provided near the social media icions

It's odd ya know, like there are people on this site who are amazing and deserve all the views they have. But there are others that I feel as though aren't as good, but then you click on their work just because it's interesting or whatever, and they have like 50k views, and it blows my mind.
Don't get me wrong I think that everyone deserves a chance to really show off their work, and everyone has a different style, but seriously, I guess a lot of people don't like mine.
Then i figured that maybe it's because they are a prime membership. I know you can get more exposure by going prime...at least that's what it says.
It is tough to get a good following though. HARD OUT HERE FO A PIMP LOOOOOOOOOOL my bad.

Gx3RComics In reply to Alazul [2012-09-13 06:48:05 +0000 UTC]
Art is sort of a hard thing to judge, and honestly when it comes to getting views what I said is only based on observation I'm not sure how super successful it is. I am sure it's easier to get views that way vs original content because people already know what they're getting into vs having to learn what's what.
Though I do think a lot is sort of sacrficed with this sort of mindset, I've grown tired of hearing "I thought from the thumbnail this was Cloud" when referring to my character Neige. Anything with blond hair and a sword is Cloud apparently, unless said character has a article of green clothing, then it's Link. Which is funny since Neige infact has a green jacket.
I think when creating art you shouldn't let others view numbers bother you because it can aim to discourage you, it did to me for a while. Now I just use it as motivation to create more stuff, gotta keep positive! As cheesy as it sounds.
Honestly I don't know squat about prime membership, I know even less of the Llama badges (thanks for that though!) so maybe it's something worth reading into.
Also I'm glad you liked my gallery, thanks for the watch.
