I love your photography! It's all so intimate and personal. You have a very good eye for good lighting.
Do you try and take these shots candid or do you plan them out a bit?

Most of them are planned a bit, a couple are spontaneous but i thing the majority are all slightly staged.

Yeah, same thing with my photography. Occasionally I'll try to nab a photo when someone isn't looking but that's always so hard, especially cause I like to take several shots in a row.
I've found it helps to have a separate flash from your camera. A flash is very useful for getting spontaneous pics, and a hand-held flash can help you avoid the gross look of an in-camera direct flash (especially if you bounce it off the ceiling or something)
