I'm going to start doing archery, fencing and a martial art. However, not very interested in grappling (while it is more practical, I'm not looking for usefulness in real world foremost

I'm in to quite a bit of things. Games and sci-fi stuff included. (I love Farscape, for example, and Final Fantasy games). I like the idea of being multi-talented, or experienced, and so I like a lot of things. Archery, fencing, and other martial arts all sound very cool. - As for my grappling, I'm learning it not just because I enjoy it, but because it's a good form of self defense. If you want to get into an ultimate form of Martial Arts, try out Jeet Kun Do. Bruce Lee is it's creator, if memory serves me right at this hour.

That is the exact one I'm leaning most towards, simply because it's the only thing I heard about that is around here

I think of it as -one- of the ultimates, simply because Bruce Lee was an amazingly great martial artist. I say -one- because there are specific styles for specific people at times. Anyway, what Bruce Lee did was learn a great deal of martial art styles, and from them he took choice aspects, and created something of his own. The same method can be used by anyone for similar but equal in par results. - So there are many paths, but Jeet Kun Do has got to be one of the best one's.

I need to read up on Jet Kune Doooohohohoooo! Someone posted in my previous journal, a big guide to animal style Kung fu's. Very interesting.. Snake seems the most fascinating so far, and he said it was the least nonsense, most death-style of the Kung Fu selection. And that it was impopular in the west due to not horsing around so much.
I also need to watch Bruce Lee movies. *to do list*.

A really hard, but beautiful form of martial arts is that of the "Drunken Master." Have to be pretty flexible to do it, tho.
