Without your marbles (which are made from a few drops of your blood) you are only able to see red. On your own, you have a few special powers (with the help of your marbles) such as mind-reading, location identification, clairvoyance, syncing (but only with Mikoto) and your final ability is phenomenal projection (meaning you, under great stress, can project that feeling to others around you and make them experience things like burning, drowning, and even choking Mizuchi put you through) this ability on it's own can be life-threatening.

Anna listened and watched him with her doll like expression as she listened to his reply.
"Nothing is something and nobody is someone..." She told him as she returned the stare with her scarlet eyes.
"I'm Anna..." She introduced herself softly, if she really wanted answers from him, she would've used her mables on him but Totsuka said that was rude and it would draw attention t her and she didn't want that.

Well no, studying humans is part of science too. You see, when ever a human is used to understand human bodies, they are already dead and were donated literally by themselves saying they wanted to be. No, people like those were automatically put on death row if anyone was found doing that. Otherwise if they were never caught, they were never one in the first place and did a good job at faking it.

No I'm a scientist of the US Government. We don't preform anything related with living humans. So I am still confused on what you try to prove. But in all less my point being, I would never hurt anyone without a really good reason to do so, especially when it's against the law of what they were doing.

Anna shook her head. "You're a normal scientist, so you wouldn't understand..." She glanced over at her marbles as they gave off a red glow and began to move on their own.
"I don't wanna explain..." She said softly before the marbles stopped completely. "Sorry..."
