Quite busy actually. loads of homework and other things that need to be done. Most of my times of even going on here is because I'm on the computer doing homework, I haven't been able to do much on here and I don't think the work load is going to decrease until well after finals, which won't be for months. In fact I'm on the computer write now just because of homework. It's getting very tiring, especially since I want some time for my own art work and own person time, but I don't have the time for it.
So busy sums it up.
Plus its getting a bit tiring on this site just commenting on everyones and just getting a smiley face back, at least you'll have a conversation with me.
I woudl write more but I have so much homework to do, I won't expell more, unless we continue this as a conversation.
How have you been Aaron?

I can understand being busy. I feel like I have tons of work that needs to get done, and each day only get to a small part of it. I'm enjoying my classes and my students this semester; there's a lot of work just in terms of prepping for my classes and grading papers & exams, but if all I had to do was that and talking to my students, I'd love it as I could still carve out time to read and write and REST. But on top of all that I've got faculty/committee meetings, a research project to be working on, and lots of other logistical details. NC requires us to get our cars inspected each year; mine is due this month, but it needs repairs to pass inspection, and so far that's required 3 trips to my mechanic. *AND* I had to go to the dentist last week for a filling, but the tooth involved may require more work (as in a root canal), and it has been sore since I got the filling last week, so I'm dreading that, along with wondering when I will even have time for that procedure if it's necessary...
So, yeah, busy sums it up here also.
I can understand what you mean about commenting and not getting much reaction from people, although I worry sometimes I don't respond to comments as I always should either. I think to some degree I respond to some people more than others as it's easier to engage in an actual conversation with them for some reason (such as yourself, of course). Then others make comments that I'm not sure how to reply to, if that makes sense.
Anyway, I should be taking care of a few last things for tomorrow and then get to bed. Didn't sleep well last night, which was not good for having a long day today.

Too bad work and school can't just be the interesting parts, the deep conversations where it's bouncing around and you're learning more about each person, or going far into a piece of artwork, but that would be not hard enough to test everyone on so we need curriculium thus we need a lot of school work, to keep us busy. I have a lot of projects dur around this week and have been waiting to the last moment, my next few days will be incredicble busy.
AHHH the dentist!! I'm going there tomorrow... hopefully everything checks out fine. I wish you luck there, hopefully it's not too painful or they give you meds. When it starts hurting pinch yourself, or scratch yourself really hard, that might distract you for a few minutes or so, might help. I had a lot of mouth pain when I had braces, it was torchor. -_-
Honestly right now while I'm so busy I haven't responded to any comments besides those this from you and from my love, i'm not going to spend my little bit of time commenting on something shortly when instead I could respond with quality to someone that will continue a conversation. I'll respond to everyone else when I am truly not busy, probably President's Day.
Being a teacher, you defilantly need your sleep, young adults are immature and crazy at times, gotta be able to handle that without losing control.
sleeping has been the best part of my days lately.
i been working hard over the past few months of lucid dreaming, saturday I got a lot better, so I been looking forward to sleeping and working on that.

One of my favorite writers (Henri Nouwen) once said: "Schools were originally meant to interrupt a busy existence and create some space to contemplate the mysteries of life." There are times I wish they could still be more like that. I actually read an article recently about how much standardized testing has affected the education students get in public schools (mostly in a negative way), and how the same people in charge of that are now hoping to bring the same "reforms" to universities. The government actually tried to get universities to go along with that several years ago, and universities pretty much told them to get lost. I'm hoping they will continue to resist that trend. If I have to start "teaching to the test," I'll be looking for another line of work...
I'm actually not in a great deal of pain, unless I try to chew or bite down hard with that one tooth. It's in the back on the left side of my mouth. If I don't chew on that side, I'm not having a huge issue, but if I do, I have a pretty horrible headache for quite a while after. I'm debating when I should call the dentist to have them check it out and see what (if anything) we can do about it. Mainly things are just so busy right now that I'm not sure when I'd have time to actually go in for an actual procedure. I know I need to get it dealt with sooner rather than later, but for the moment it's more of an irritation than a huge problem at least.
Anyway, I can relate to what you said about not replying to some people until you get a break. We have Spring Break the first full week of March, and I'm definitely starting to look forward to that (even if that will end up being when I have to go to the dentist for some big procedure, as it may be the only time I can get in to get it done!). I'm not going anywhere for the break; I know I'll have exams to grade and some other work I can hopefully get caught up on. And having time to sleep will be VERY nice. I'm doing my best to get my sleep every night, but during the "work week" it never feels like quite enough.
I actually read a book which talked about lucid dreaming a while ago, and another of my friends on here told me that her sister was also working on how to do that. I think it's really cool, but I've never been able to do it. It might be something I'll try sometime. But if nothing else I find it really interesting just because dreaming and the unconscious is something we still know so little about, and it's such a mystery.

One of my classes actually discussed the subject of teachers just teaching the test, my teacher was slightly included in the conversation, when it got down to it - it's true. Teachers don't have enough to time to elaborate and make classes more interesting and go off on deep long conversations because they only have so much amount of time to teach and get us ready for the test. Like my AP Art History class, we would all love to just sit in the class and discuss the art work, but we simply do not have enough time for that, each day has a certain amount of notes that must be covered, it's disapointing because in a class like that you don't want to rush, you want to dig deep into the subject matter. I wish teachers didn't have to give big test at the end, or state wide test, but in my county it has to happen. They actually got rid of a state test and instead we have to take other big end of course exams on top of our finals that our teachers give us. It's just too much testing.
well spring break is comign up, hold out till then, hopefully then you won't be as busy. I already know of projects I am going to be doing during then for school. -_- not looking forward to it. Have a took pain is a great escuse to eat a lot of icecream
Many people at my school are on facebook, and I'm like "When in the world do you have time for that" or a job. I barely have enough time for school and home life. (Kinda funny, whenever they miss school because they're 'sick', teachers have been checking facebook and so now sometimes they won't give them makeup work, especially in some classes because they work you can get online but they won't look it up only facebook). But yeah there's not enough time in the day. I want a week where I can just do nothing, or focus on my own self and do what I want and not do school work. Summer isn't too far away, so we'll all have a break then.
I really want to be able to full control my dreams, then I would be able to remember them, not have nightmares, and just probably sleep a lot better. Plus it's super cool! I need to practice more though, hopefully I get better.

I agree there is too much testing, and I also don't like the "standardized" tests which basically dictate to teachers what material HAS to be covered. I heard of one school system here in this area which decided that the teachers at their schools would no longer write any of their final exams; instead, the standardized test in each subject would be their final. While that might be good in the sense of one less test for students, I really don't like the idea of a teacher not being able to write their own final exam. If they ever try that at the college level, I may go insane, and start saying "They can have my final exam when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers!"
Yeah, we have one week to go until Spring Break (which happens before spring actually arrives, as usual). I also know I'm going to have 2 sets of exams to grade, and I need to work on a research presentation that I've not had ANY other time to work on lately. I'm also hoping to at least see a friend or two during the week, and at least enjoy not having to get up early each day...
My tooth seems to be doing better now. Still a *little* irritation, but it's less than what it was. Hopefully that trend continues...
The book I read about lucid dreaming said that people who have studied and practiced it have found all kinds of benefits, in terms of their health and state of mind in general. I also agree that it's super cool.

Our teachers write our finals, but so do the state. So we normally get two final exams for each class. It's actually quite ridiculous the amount of testing, I hate it so much. And honestly the teachers know its a lot but they still choose to have long final exams whent they know the state are going to give us some. I mean only one of my teachers ever gives us a light exam because it's rotc and he doesn't want us to have to take long boring test.
It's finally spring break(took a while to reply) I have a lot of reading to do for a class including taking notes, and two massive projects, and I need to get it all done by this thursday. Spring break for students and teachers shouldnt be full of work, just free relaxing time. YES! SLEEP! finally a good time to get some quality sleep
Just try not to think about your took. My friend recently told me she has a cavity, I feel bad for her, she brushes like crazy but it still happened. Hope your tooth continues to get better, might just take some time.
I find lucid dreaming helps to actually keep me asleep, normally my cats wake me up a lot but if i try lucid dreaming ill actually sleep through the night. i need to work on it more. it's enjoyable and yes very cool

I've been hearing *some* people in the government actually seem to notice that all of the testing is a problem. It's probably not enough to bring about any change just yet, but I'm hoping it could be the start of something. I actually learned within the past year that much of the push for testing has come from businesses which--who would have figured--make money by selling standardized testing materials to state governments and school systems. I've also heard some about research showing that countries that *don't* have standardized tests actually seem to be more effective in terms of what their students learn (which if true, would not surprise me at all).
I hope you've enjoyed your spring break! We get a bit of a break, i.e. a 4-day weekend for Easter (we were off today and are also off Monday). I definitely enjoyed sleeping today, although like you I've got a few things I need to work on during the break.
My tooth actually seems to be okay for now. The pain and irritation have pretty much faded away. The dentist said he was including a filling which would help re-calcify the tooth, and I'm wondering if that just took some time to take effect. He did say that with this kind of cavity, even when it's filled it could still need more work later, possibly months or years down the road, or it may be fine and have no more problems. I'm hoping for the latter, but I guess time will tell. I'm just glad that all seems okay for now.

lol well I have to throw it out there. I got to be honest, no one comments and I doubt anyone actually looks at my story but it's ok. I just want to finish this long thing and finally finish it regardless if anyone actually reads it or not. This whole Deviantart thing is just a way to reach out andsee of people like what I came up wityh. The meat of my project is going to be much bigger with what I have planned and It very well might be a comic, who knows? All I know is that right now i'm just one guy with limited resources
