I wish I could help out all the wonderful artists here, but life has a way of not turning out as you planned. If it weren't for the generosity of my family, well... I don't even want to think about it.
I made good money for about 25 years, not counting the half a dozen or so times between jobs when I wasn't. Looking back, the older I got, the harder it was to find work, and the longer the gaps were in between.
Then about the time I turned 50, it became clear nobody wanted old tech people. The amount of education or experience didn't matter. You could go back to school, but it didn't help. (Like many others, I learned it wasn't a matter of training or talent or experience.)
Yes, there are still a few old techies out there, but only a few--one here and one there. When I started, most of my peers were in their 20's and 30's. As I got older, my peers were still in their 20's and 30's. Don't ask me where the people my own age disappeared to. They kind of just "went away" and never came back. Then so did I.
So the next time you hear of some tech company whining they can't find enough talented people, be sure to remember what they really mean is they can't find enough talented young people. Preferably naΓ―ve young people willing to work very long hours for mediocre pay.Β I thought by working all those long hours, I was "paying my dues" like everyone else. As it turned out, we were all just being used.

I'm afraid I didn't do anything, It was a picture I had commissioned based on a pre-made base, all I did was specify who's head I wanted on it. The rest of the morphs in my gallery are my own work however, I hope you like them as well.
