I must correct the illusion, created for drama by the title, that this was a caged kitty.

In reality, the window screen was for security of the house not to incarcerate the cat

I don't know about where you live Ashie but the UK is currently having heavy rain 
and widespread flooding       Hopefully it will pass soon and water levels drop.

Eeyore would have been in his pessimistic element - "Don't blame me if it rains" he said.

The poem I quoted defined the fuchsia flowers as "Ballerinas dancing in the breeze"

South African beach to experience solitude      but avoid loneliness
