hm, I might haveΒ some tips.
Design:
design it however you'd want to look like and add things that represent what you like.
for example: my favorite color is green, so Kayomia (my persona) has green hair. I wish I could fly and I enjoy wresting, so I made her a fighter pilot. I wish I was stronger (which I'm already the 2nd-3rd strongest in my class XD) so Kayomia is physically strong.
personality:
I act like an idiot (but not to brag, this is just an example O_O) I have the highest grades in my whole school, so Kayomia is very smart, but its hard to tell XD I'm creative and a stratagist (crud spelled it wrong) So is Kayomia. But she's seen war and death and stuff, so she has a slightly cracked mentality.

Hatters back in those days had to put dangerous chemicals in the beaver pelts they made hats out of, and after a certain amount of time breathing in the fumes(the time changed between the people and their health status), they went completely crazay.
