On a slightly related note, my bio professor told us the other day that it would only take 24 hours for one E. coli to multiply to a ball the size of the earth, if every bacterium magically survived to multiply. Mind-blowing, hmm?

I could probably go pull up that statistic about how many parasites live on our skin if you like. Do you have any idea how many species of bacteria live in our bodies??? I'm scarred for life. This is why I didn't go into medicine, but I guess bio's the next best thing for it, hmm? I feel bad for the OCD kids every time the teachers quote us more facts about parasites and how germs are omnipresent and such. I'm not squeamish myself, but occasionally I'm even like, holy hell, Batman. O_O
