Awesome. I got to go to the state aquarium today, which is kind of a long drive, but we have a bunch of cool stuff, like horseshoe crabs and ribbon eels and bull sharks and stuff, and I also got to feed some of the fish, which was awesome.Β

No, no dolphins. But, ribbon eels are supposedly very difficult to keep in captivity, and they have captive-bred octopi and the largest bull sharks in captivity, so it's pretty coolβ¦ well, at least I think it is. They're also building a sea turtle exhibit.Β

Aha, they're a species of moray eels, and they're small, but they have these cool fans on their nostrils they use b/c they're basically blind. Also, interestingly enough, electric eels aren't actually eels, they're a species of knifefish, which is how they can use their electrical organs; a normal fish-shape doesn't work. They're also basically blind, they have this cool mechanism where, if they brush up against something, they swim backwards to see if it fits in their mouth.Β

No. The biggest things there were the sharks, they didn't have any cetaceans, sadly. There was cool stuff there, though.
