I realise this legal lingo is going to sound extremely intimidating, but I've actually had to delve into it a bit myself (had to put legal licenses on several articles I wrote), and to me it actually looks fairly harmless.

For example:

3. License To Use Artist Materials. As and when Artist Materials are uploaded to the DeviantArt Site(s), Artist grants to DeviantArt a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to do the following things during the Term:

Means that you give dA permission to use your art in the following ways, without expecting them to pay you royalties, and without restricting them to which countries they can or can't do it in. "Non-exclusive" means that dA is not the only company that can do those things. In other words, you are perfectly free to repost your art on any other website of your choice.

a) to prepare and encode Artist Materials or any part of them for digital or analog transmission, manipulation and exhibition in any format and by any means now known or not yet known or invented; (DA can post them on their website and edit them in any way they see fit)

This is an incorrect interpretation. This is basically a way to say: by uploading to our website, the artist gives us permission to put the art on our website and on printed mediums. They do this, because if they didn't, an artist could actually upload their art to the site or submit it to the prints program, and then turn around and sue dA for hosting said art.

e) Artist acknowledges that Artist will not have any right, title, or interest in any other materials with which Artist Materials may be combined or into which all or any portion of Artist Materials may be incorporated. (By posting on FA, you forfeit your right to dispute any third party profits or copyright infringements upon your art.)

Again, they're just making sure that if they happen to use a screenshot of your dA page for advertisements or something, or host a work of yours in one of their blogs, you don't come asking for royalties. But if you're worried about this happening, you could always just add a watermark using your own image editing software.

g) As used in this Agreement, the term “Artist Materials” means any content uploaded to the DeviantArt Site(s) which may include without limitation Artist’s name(s) (including professional names), trademarks, trade names, likenesses, photographs, biographical materials, audio-visual materials, artwork, liner notes, and other graphical, textual, video, film or audio materials and any and all “skins,” computer-generated images or other artwork or images that Artist submits to DeviantArt in any medium or format whatsoever. (ANYTHING you submit to DeviantArt belongs to DeviantArt now. Including your drawings, your photos, videos, your stock materials, your music/audio, your written stories, and your artist name.)

No. This line is just giving a definition of what the term "Artist materials" means for this particular article. It honestly doesn't say "all your stuff belongs to us now, mhuahaha."

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm also not completely unfamiliar with this stuff. And honestly, it looks totally harmless to me. Relax. That Tumblr poster was wrong.

I realize that. I know I can get a bit skidish some times about these sorts of things. It's not like I didn't look further into it, I did see if the clauses were present, but I should have looked a bit deeper, honestly. v  v"

I haven't seen a lot of new stuff from you btw. Shame cause I like your work and comics. Can't blame you though if life just gets in the way or the sort. I haven't posted art in a long time either.

Yes Toriyama in a talk with Naho Oshii.

In another interview, Toriyama also stated he didn't like Chi-Chi.

Yeeeahh, I think I've heard of that one.

I'm quite happy to disregard that. It kind of makes Goku look like a total prick. (Irredeemably so, which is hardly something you want in your hero.) Besides, in early DBZ he doesn't act like they're only friends to him.

TFS manages to make it funny, at least. And that's only because the rest of the cast acknowledges what a terrible husband and father he can be.

Thats what I mean, alot of Toriyama's answers are extremely cruel.

I mean why tell a paying fan politely asking a question if his favorite character was happy, "Oh he was miserable for the rest of his life" then end the question?

Like I said so much earlier, Toriyama doesn't care about his own characters!
