Hello there! I'm a college student from the East Coast, USA. I'm a brony (obviously), and I'm a kid at heart. The first time I went was only for a week in 2007 (vacationing). The second - which most of the more recent photos are from - was my semester abroad there in 2010 (shamefully I'm only just now getting around to posting them!). I'm planning on going back within the next 2-3 years to do fieldwork for my upcoming PhD, during which I hope to take lots more photos.

That sounds like so much fun! I've always wanted to go to Japan, but learning abroad wouldn't help with my major (I'm learning to be an English teacher). What are you aiming for for your PhD?
I am thinking about trying out the JET program once I'm out of college though. That way I could be an English teacher, and explore Japan for a year. I would want to learn Japanese first though. It's such a beautiful language, but a tough one to learn!

Actually I think your major fits in well with foreign study! Many of my friends did language-related degrees and nearly all of them are over in Japan through JET now. It's a great opportunity and I definitely encourage you to apply! There are also awesome programs in Korea and China you might want to look into online.
I'm doing a Politics degree looking into the US-Japan alliance in particular. I'd go into more detail but that might go on too long!
