Name: Arthur Kirkland. Not iggy, not Artie, not Caterpillar. Arthur.
Appearance: He has messy, short blond hair and green eyes with large eyebrows. According to France, he's rather slender. He usually is wearing a green military uniform.
Personality: In modern times he claims to be a gentleman, however he is cynical, sharp-tongued, and quite blunt. He is noted for being horrible at cooking. He can be described as "spacey" because of his strong belief in magic, spirits, fairies, and various other fantasy-related creatures. He does not know how to express himself, leading to others often misunderstanding him. He is also depicted as being self-deprecating. Despite his cynical, realistic view on the world, he is said to be a romanticist. When drunk, his personality will change from that of a gentleman to a bitter and violent delinquent. Also, every year when the Fourth of July comes around, his condition collapses. The former pirate may not be able to swim.
Other: He is well-versed in black magic and can see mythical creatures that others can't, which causes the other nations to think of them as his hallucinations. He also was a pirate before he settled down into his "gentleman" role. England's interests include: embroidery, craftsmanship, literature, rock music, and giving scathing criticisms to America's movies. It has been mentioned that England has brothers, one representing Scotland, and the others presumably Wales and Northern Ireland, who hate him and used to drive him away with stones and arrows when he was a child, and even went as far as to mail him curses.
Head Cannons:
-Cant swim
-Doesn't find himself that appealing but will casually boast otherwise.
-Is frightened of the Nordics since when they were Vikings, they raided his villages
-He looks up to his older brother (Scotland) even though he usually gets hurt by him
