Hey Linus,
don't know if you've been around lately, but i remembered deviantart exists after (literally) years. hope you're well! I've always enjoyed your photos, and i look forward to seeing more (assuming i don't forget dA exists again)

Hey Jenna!
Gosh, no lie, it's been more than two years that I last logged in or even visited my profile! Funny that you just wrote now, too, really!
I'm fine, thankyou! Studying keeps me busy and the new semester starts tomorrow, it'll be exhausting, but what can I do :/ Much happened in the last years, most recently - after I planned to do so for more than three years now - I got myself an own homepage for my photos! dA - to me - somehow isn't the "true solution", I'm afraid. :/ I want to design the whole layout and wanna have a place "just for myself", furthermore I love programming. That's why I tought myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery in the last days and had and have fun programming!
My new site will be in German, but as photos don't need a language, maybe you'll like it, I'd really love if you visited me there! There won't be a comment function (I'm not THAT good at programming), but there will be an e-mail-address, just in case I will be on dA as often as last years. By now there is just a placeholder with a link to an interview (in English!), but I'm really busy now getting it online! It's www.lscholz.com ... I might write a journal to my watchers on dA when it's online, okay?
How are you? It's been a long time since we last wrote!
And to point this out: There has never been someone who told me - even after years of silence - that he/she misses my photos! That is just ... WOW, I really never got such a big compliment, thank you so very very much, dear!!!

I'm not saying Thursday won't work...but funny life, life got twisted again Thursday my father-in-law is coming up to go fishing. Now, I have no details yet on when he is arriving, but he's going to be out most of the day in his boat. So, it may or may not interrupt our time on Thursday...I just don't know.
I'm not sure if you want another day or not. See, Wednesday I'm shopping for groceries, today (Monday) is too short of notice, and Friday...is the fair!!! But I don't know what's going on Friday yet *scratches head* Tuesday could work...I told you, life is funny here; what can I say?

Oh gosh, apparently I wasn't on dA for more than a week now. Which is why I read this too late, I'm sorry!
That sounds cool spending time with your father-in-law! I really wish you a beautiful day with going fishing! We'll find another date, be sure. As I'll be pretty busy with moving at the beginning of September, I'd either suggest the beginning of next week or that I'll look for a date as soon as I've moved. That's all so exciting, only one week left!
Tuesday could have worked, yes, if I'd only checked dA earlier. >.> ... Friday doesn't work for me, either, the 1-year-Abitur party is there.
I'll be patiently waiting how funny my life in Münster will get. Please have a beautiful rest of the week, dear, and thanks for letting me know!

I do forgive you, but I've been wondering what's been eating up all your time I'm not mad, just...wondering. You've been terribly absent from dA; I thought you'd be around a bit more with your job being done. I thought wrong, apparently anyhow...
Well, my fil is arriving early in the morning, which means, we can still be on for Skype at our regular time. He's just fishing, not me...Troa would go with him, but he has a lot of work to do. I like to eat fish, not actually fish I have errands to run as well. But, if you get this message too late, we can postpone; I do understand.
Next week? Tuesday through Friday looks good, thus far, but that's all I know. When are you leaving for school? Have a safe trip there and all I do hope all the plans that lead up to that go well for you. Take care

Of course I know! Hmm, what about Thursday? Would that work for you?
Haha, you're funny! That somehow reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. The world just happens but you don't know how, even though you're right in the middle. ... gosh, I already notice I'm less around on dA again.
Just btw, may I ask you for something? You needn't if you don't want to, I only thought asking doesn't cost anything, so please let me explain Lately I found an amazing international contest! There are two rounds: Those photos which will make it to round two will be judged my a professional jury, but in the first round visitors have to vote online and rate photos.
There's a algorithm that will calculate a final rate out of your average rating and the number of votes you got. Meaning I need many (good) votes to have a good chance to get to round two. I already found out that you can vote once per hour and pc/smartphone. As soon as you vote, a timer of 60min will start (invisibly of course). Do you vote again before time is up, the timer will start again and that vote won't be counted. This contest will end on August 31st. What I wanna say is: If you don't mind, it would be purely awesome if you'd vote for me (5 stars would be cool) just when you're sitting in front of your computer anyway. There seem to be some rivals in this contest that got to know that 1h cycle, too, and rate me 1 star permanently as I'm not really bad in the average rating ... till now. ... gosh, that got so long, I'm sorry ... if you don't want to, it's absolutely ok, I just try to let all my friends know to have a bigger chance to win that contest. Besides the main "material" prize, my photo would be shown in Paris, London and Berlin, which would be so cool! [link]
Independently from whether you'll vote or not, thank you so much, dear, just wanna let you know you're awesome!

I'm not sure about Thursday; I'm supposed to go to the DMV that day, but I don't know what time. Not like that really matters because whatever time you go there, it takes a minimum of an hour, closer to 2 hours. Very rarely does it take less time...so, I think I'll have to pass on Thursday. Maybe next week? Terrible, right? I'm sorry
Yes, where have you been all this time? It seems like ages ago that you were here! No, I understand...you're busy with something. Work I'm guessing, and I don't know what else I've made a new friend here, so she's been keeping me occupied here on dA which is nice We have enough in common, so really cool. She randomly found me which makes it all the more fun
Yes, I can do that for you with your photo. So, the contest goes until August 31, and I can star you once an hour every day until the 31 of August? Well, sure, I can do that...when I'm at my computer. Some days that will be pretty often! I like to help

No problem. Would be cool if we could have chatted this week again, but when there's no time, there isn't much we can change about it, sad as it is. Please make a suggestion, which day would you like to? Actually every day next week should work.
Lack of motivation as no one really seems to be interested in my art (except of you of course!)? Too excited due to moving soon? No idea.
Oh wow, that's so cool! Glad to hear you found a friend already! May I ask what you two have in common? Just being curious Even more cool that she's on dA, as well, hehe!
You got that absolutely correctly. (: Thank you so very much, dear! If you wanna change your mind, that's absolutely okay, just that you know! I don't wanna stress anyone in any way, thank you so very very much.

Well, it just would be difficult this week...and next week. Hmm I was paying attention when I said that before, but there might be a problem. See, all next week (Monday through Friday) is the Vacation Bible School at my church. It meets from 9 to 11:30 am each day, and technically I should be home in time. But...I'm not sure how much clean up I'll have to do every day and then set up for the next day. I would be around by 1 pm my time for sure, but I don't know about noon. I'm not really looking forward to next week, but I'm doing this as a favor for someone. Teaching kids is not my idea of a fun time
No one really seems to be interested in your art? Well I know that problem! That was my deal last year and why I wanted to leave...*sigh* All in all, I can't blame you. It is hard to generate interest, I can't argue that. You can try looking for new random people, but that only works out a small part of the time!
Oh, the German pastor was making small talk with me today...my he has a thick accent. Apparently he used to be the pastor at the church I'm at, but he still likes to attend this church. I'm always afraid of him talking to me because the conversation might never end! So, I had been trying to practice the piano for Sunday. Rather, "smashing notes" as I'm trying to learn several songs for Sunday (short notice thing; I'm not happy about it!) I'll keep practicing...
So you're not stressing me with the contest; no, my life is stressing me I'll try my best...
My new friend, well, we both like the same singer quite a bit (Adam Young), we have religion in common, our home life, and a past thing of mine and her current thing. Sometimes she knits or crochets, so that's cool, too It's been fun, and I owe her an email. I hope to get to that today...life has been funny here >_<

Hey dear, please don't be sad! I don't think we should force us to chat even though we knew there are some things we wanna (or have to) spent time on. It's really okay, dear! Sometimes one has time, and sometimes one hasn't, that's normal! I don't wanna bother anyone, so please enjoy what you do, I'm sure we'll find a date.
Actually I have other things in mind (such as moving and my future), I didn't photograph much the past time either (even though Alex and me wanna photograph at a lake next week, yay!). I can count on one hand the people who are interested in my art. ... I'm thinking of getting my own homepage, with my own speed, my own design, but I have no idea how to do that, like my personal alternative besides dA.
Tee-hee, I bet his accent wasn't as strong as mine! Never ending conversations is what I'm good at! If my mother doesn't call for dinner or the other one doesn't stop by him/herself, I'm able to talk for ages! Is he a cool pastor? Did you see him "live" already? How was your piano practicing? Were people satisfied? (I'm sure they were ) ... oh, and by the way, now that you mention practicing the piano: I practiced, too, and now can play the Waltz of Amelie pretty fluently! The more I practice, the beter it sounds, I'm so proud!
Haha, you're funny! Thank you so much!
Wow, that looks like a new cool friend for you! I wish you both so much luck for your new friendship, it really makes me happy! ... from what I get here, your life became really funny since your move! Bummer, I'm sure it will become "ordinary" again!

Speaking of my funny life, my friend Claire was bored and came up to visit! She asked Friday night if she could, and is here currently (Sunday) until Monday night. One never knows what the week will bring here
Great, so you're going to leave dA and now I can't? This is nuts my friend...this is nuts. The problem I see with you leaving is that you will probably have to pay a monthly or yearly fee for such a website...but I'm not entirely sure what will work. Try Google-ing something and I'm sure you'll find something. Oh, did you ask your "friend" that you admire so? Maybe he has an answer or two.
It's sad that dA gets stale or sour...I don't have an explanation for it! It's annoying though...and I don't know what the deal is. Other than the sad fact that art fans are fickle. They like something for a while, and then they're on to something else. My mother always warned me to not be an artist for that reason (rather crushed my innocent dream and passion for art) As the saying goes "starving artists" and too often they're not recognized well until they're dead!
No, I don't want to hear the retired German pastor preach...he's hard to understand!!! And it would be hours before one gets home >_< You are funny though
Well, piano was pretty bad (I kept "smashing notes") but it went quite well for both church services today. I have to cancel my practicing this week due to the Vacation Bible School But, I'll return next week to it...I improve very slowly I dislike it, but like many things in my life, I must work at it very hard. It gets bothersome when so much has to have so much work and effort put into it!
Anyhow, I should get back...Claire's reading, but I should be a part of things

Tee-hee, glad you had a visitor over the weekend, I hope you had much fun!
What? No! I'll never leave dA, be sure! It would just be a site that would completely be me, nothing more. I already asked a friend yesterday who knows how to make websites, though I'm not aiming at a special date with this "project website". It might take months, it might take years till I have one. Actually, it all starts with a design that I'll make in Photoshop. When that's done, I'll look for the next step. There are sites which would be completely free (with lots of advertisement on them, of course), and sites which won't have advertisement and cost about 1€ monthly, that's fair I think. Do you mean with "friend" my idol photographer? No, I didn't ask him, I doubt he will remind me (even if he's so nice, he's still up there and I'm down here).
Well, it's kind "sour" as no one really cares about my work. There is you, there is Cicero and there is Malte, no one else still cares about my photos (there are some nice watchers, but I don't know really much about them). Lina and I are still very good friends but she didn't visit dA lately much, either, as she's completely busy with studying photography, which I can understand pretty well. (she's on facebook more often) ... one advantage of an own site: There isn't anybody else, so it feels the same whether 100 people look at your site or no one, you cannot recognize. ... well, now you exaggerate. My favourite photographer started at the age of 18, now he's 36, meaning I still have 17 years to become famous.
Haha, that's sad: A German pastor coming to America, but no one wants to hear him due to his German accent ... people should give him a chance! I know by myself that speaking English is much harder than writing or learning it on paper.
I know what you say, there has to be much efforts in learning the piano! Since I now can play the waltz of the Amelie completely (not perfectly, but it becomes better), I started with a new piece of music, and it's pretty frustrating! It's the "Canon in C" by Johann Pachelbel, I really like it, but its so difficult! [link]
We still have no date for our next Skyping! It's been so long already! Please make a suggestion/s, dear.

Yes, Claire and I had a very nice time together (as I wasn't entirely sure) and she said so herself that she had a good time. That's always good
You made it sound like you would leave dA because you aren't getting much for replies, you don't care to check in on your account, etc. So, naturally I thought you wanted out of here...that, and you wanted another website, so what was I really supposed to think??? Well...it *seems* that you don't care about dA because it takes you a really long time to get back to messages. It's okay, I suppose, but I just wonder what you're up to. That's all...
Yes, your idol friend...I can't pronounce his name It was just a thought as it's best to ask those who have what you're after To ask them since they can give you an answer, rather than me making things up!
Anyhow...um, I guess most days are open this week, just not Friday. So, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday...you take it from there

No, I'll reply more now, I can't say why I passed for two months, I'm sorry. >.> ... I don't know what I'm up to ... now I'm confused.
I didn't wanna bother him with this. I had a nice discussion with Alex about websites, and it was long! Really nice, but long. ^^ Not mentioning that it is easier to explain and understand things in German than in English (for me).
Well, let's say tomorrow (Thursday) then, usual time? I'm so excited! Tomorrow my grandpa and me will paint a wall and put the lamp at the ceiling of my flat. ^_^ Don't worry, we'll be back in time, but I'm still so excited!

*checks time* 11:30...I haven't missed it, so I guess I'll be here. I was doing computer work anyhow (I have 14 emails in my inbox, but 6 are short)
I don't mind you saying something because it might not have worked this way! Well, it's fine now and we're both here. Yay!

Thought of you yesterday...I was putting white tablecloths on tables, and I had to shake them out to fit. It reminded me of your photo series "Professional Dreamer" when the cloths caught some air

Oh dear, yesterday was such a mess and disaster! I nearly finished my reply for your e-mail, but we had to hurry as my brother had to be at his Abiparty in time. And someone stole my photo equipment!!! My whole backpack gone! 2 and a half hours later, someone found it (my friends and I were searching all the time), luckily my lenses and most of the rest were still in there! Gone were two filters which we found later (wet and dirty), my purse!!! I got a call 2h ago, someone found it, the only missing thing is the money inside (about 25€), the rest is inside. Also missing and probably forever lost, are 4 rechargeable AA-batteries for my flash and (most expensive): my "ColorChecker Passport"! I feel so miserable, I bought it just 4 months ago from the money of a 50th birthday photo job! ... I can only hope that insurance company of that party will pay for it, my mother will also ask our household insurance, even if it might be useless.
Hehe, you're funny, that's cute of you to think of that series, I still love it! I met Meike yesterday, we maybe will take another series soon, yay! I'll have to admit that I'm not in a cheerful mood actually, though, I'm sorry.

Dear Linus,
I can understand you not being too happy right now and I cannot blame you. A similar thing happened to Troa once. It turned out that nothing was gone, but his backpack had been moved without anyone knowing or saying anything. So, I know what you're saying
I am very sorry to hear about this I certainly don't mean to downplay this or brush it off, but most of your possessions were still there which is really good considering all you had there. I know, your most expensive thing is gone but I'm just trying to help you be a little positive about this. It's what I do...
By the way, a colorchecker passport is really cool looking! I hope someone's insurance can help you out I don't know about over there, but over here rechargeable batteries aren't too expensive, yet I know that's not what you're concerned about :hrm: Anyhow, please don't be too down, dear

Dear Rini,
it's been some time now. You're right, I really should be happy that most of it is still there! Unfortunately my backpack has not just been moved. The ColorChecker Passport appeared, someone found it and messaged me on facebook. Unfortunetely, it has shoe prints on it, beer fingerprints on it and I can't use it anymore (I think I wrote this to you in an e-mail already). Gone is the money, and the money I had to bring up for a new ColorChecker and new batteries. Funnily, I found the "lost" batteries a few days ago under a bunch of magazines in my room. Apparently I forgot to put them in my backpack before I drove of to that party, lucky me!
And no, the insurance company did not pay! Except for once, I never had to contact such incompetent people! Gosh, even thinking of them drives me nuts! I won't ever make a deal with that "insurance company", and I'll care for that no one who I know does.
Anyhow, I've been over that. I have everything I need again and can take photos. Thank you for your compassion, dear!

Bother about all that...and to the insurance company I've felt that way about doctors, so I know what you're saying! I met with a really dumb doctor about 2 years ago and the thought of him (and his sheer stupidness) still gets me on edge, so I hear you. I don't recommend the company as a whole to anyone, either!
Anyhow, sorry to hear it...but, we can move on, right? I should make dinner...and hopefully not fall asleep yet *yawn*

I wonder...do you eat Kinder Eggs much? Maybe I've asked before. I've never had them, but I've seen them. A college classmate had a pen pal in Germany who would send some at times. I just was curious...apparently
