My name is Josh and I am working on a fan-project with a group of people. The project is a book, a player's guide actually, full of original material and artwork, for a game called Vampire: The Masquerade. Our book focuses heavily on the Lasombra and Abyss Mysticism.
I hope you don't mind my contacting you, but I really like your "Obtenebration" picture, and would like to use it in our book.
There is no profit made from this book, so we would like to use your work for free, but you will get full credit for what you have contributed to.

So long as you edit out the Clan Lasombra heraldry from the background you have my permission to use it. I don't want to get into any trouble with White Wolf.

We appreciate your willingness to allow us to use your art. However, we have done our research and familiarized ourselves with some copyright law and also White Wolf's own standard for fan-projects--which means we are not trying to get into any trouble with White Wolf/CCP/Onyx Path either.
According to WW's own guidelines, found here [link] , we are allowed to use up to three images owned by White Wolf/CCP. Since our book contains all original art, so far the only images we have used are the Lasombra and Kiasyd symbols--which means technically we still have the right to legally use one more of their images.
If you still would prefer to have the Lasombra symbol edited out, please respond and I can do that for you, but I would just like to let you know that we've done opur research, and we don't think it is necessary. Also, we intend to submit our book directly to WW/CCP so that they can directly inform us if we are violating any of their terms.
