Financial troubles...we couldn't afford to keep him. Also, we barely had time to just see him, let alone train him. He has so much potential, and it would have been wasted if he'd just spent his life as a pasture pet.

Thank you! Jasper is being cart trained soon! We are starting with harder things like pulling. I find that he takes things better when I just hook things up to him and ride him with them. Because when i'm on the ground with him he really only knows he is supposed to follow me but he always ends up running past me and freaking out, if I just hook the sled to him and jump on he has a little moment where he has one ear and one eye on it, but he gets over it REALLY fast. i think it's because when i'm riding him he can feel me better and I'm better able to tell him what to do, plus he has a sense of going somewhere or doing something and it tends to put his head back into work mode. I got some videos of him pulling today. If you want I can show you them! I think he needs to go on a diet though.....all i do is work him to a lather and then some and he continues to gain weight....i think he has started going down a little since iv'e started project pony boot camp. He has defiantly gotten some of his muscle tone back. I'm thinking that after the snow falls and he starts working through snow then he might drop some weight, he doesn't know it yet, but if we have to feed with square bails he is going to be out there pulling that sled through the snow, not me! XD I'm thinking that by spring he should be in better shape and hopefully by summer I'll have him back to how he looked when he was 3....he was just solid muscle! I spent so much time trying to get Savvy back on track, i neglected to spend time with him and he just puffed right up. So now that iv'e got Savvy figured out Jasper should be worked more.

eh,probably not quickly...well he certainly will not lose the fat well thats for sure...but when i get him there, can you just say buff as hell because that pony is going to be just solid muscle. XD One thing I've learned from training him...it's a slow process to get that pony into shape and it's hard work even for me! But when he gets there he does not lose that muscle quickly! He still has pretty nice muscle under all his fat from when i had him in show shape around his 3rd year, it's just hiding under fat! XD

BTW rockets almost stoppped walking off all the time now maybe once i have to back him up but hes getting so good!!!

i sand at his sholder and as i do up the girth one hole at a time if he turns to nip i raid me hand creating a invisable wall and say Shhhhhht and he senses that invisable energy i have put p and he stops insently hes such an good boy hay!!!!!! no naughtyness for months now
