Well yeah, XD pixels are pixels, only thing is I cannot use transparent tools or animation tools in MSpaint, so I do that stuff in other programs ofc, but yes 95% or better of my pixels are done in MSpaint. I use dots, and lines to draw. owo nothing fancy, lol.

just try sketching things out, it gets easier as you go. I am self taught as well, and I only use references for specific things like characters, animals, or anatomy, I do most everything myself. ^__^
