# About me

Hello, I'm CosplayerWithCamera! I'm a photographer from the midwest by Chicago! So i usually attend most Illinois conventions and some conventions in neighboring states. I am very passionate about both cosplay and photography so I usually am in full cosplay when doing photoshoots.

Nikon D500 camera
35mm f/1.8 lens
Yongnuo YN-560 II flash
SB-600 flash
Minolta flash(super ancient and for a film camera, works good for a secondary flash tho)

Flash Accessories:
Strobies flash diffuser kit(mini beauty dish, globe diffuser(aka fishbowl), snoot, honeycomb)
22inch Beauty Dish
Color gels

As a cosplay photographer myself I always like looking at other photographers works. And I didn't realize it but some of the people you photographed I had on my watch list and had always like the photos u took of them. And I enjoy your model work as well. I enjoy the angles and layouts of your shots. And it has what alot of photographers lack. So keep up the good work! =D (Big Grin)

So I'm finally ready to purchase a new lens. I'm not sure what's good though. I'm leaning towards this:

Ah, the 50mm, it's actually a lens I've been tempting to buy after trying out my b/f's canon 50mm. The bokeh is really great on it(better than my 35mm). And i believe the bokeh may be a bit smoother than the 35mm too. But the 50mm is one of the best lens out there for how cheap you can get it.(more photographers have one)

Just did some research on whether the lens will work with your camera, this lens doesn't fully work on your camera. You won't be able to autofocus and some people mentioned it's goes on with a slight difficulty. This lens: [link] is made to fit on your camera perfectly and you will be able to autofocus. Tho it will cost you more, unfornuately. So if you're used to autofocus go for the one, I linked you to.

So is the 50mm f/1.8G pretty much the same thing as the link I sent, except newer? If it is, then I guess I'm going with the f/1.8G :D (Big Grin) I'm not very good at manual focusing yet.

lol yeah, pretty much the AF-S is the newer version that works with the more newish camera(like my D5000 wouldn't only fully work with that one too) You can tell by the look at the two lenses too on what one is more new for Nikon. Yeah, I like autofocus since it's way quicker and I don't have to worry about uploading the photos and realized I hadn't been fully infocused for half the shots. XD

Omg! xD I don't want to sound like a creep, but would it at all be possible if you could take a couple of shots of me in my cosplay? D: (If you have the time, that is!)

I usually have my friend take my pictures with my camera and it's usually luck if we get a decent looking one because he's not so....camera savvy. xD

Oh god, I know how that is. I used to be in a cosplay group, and some of them i'd try to avoid handing them the camera...(but occasionally would have no choice) cuz they didn't know what to pay attention to. Or you have ones who think they are angle and framing savvy and you look at the photos they took and are like =_= lol
