Yeah. A few tragedies happened in the family this year... My father included... So it has been quite rough for everyone here. I'm just glad the year is almost over already... I just want to start better next year...

I hear you about tragedies, sorry to hear about your father it's
so hard to lose family.  Just this year I've lost my grandma, and my
fiancé lost his younger brother, so hopefully next year will be better.

Yeah, it is. Sorry about your losses as well, they're always so scarring. Yes, hopefully. But, at least in my mother's side of the family, my grandma's Alzheimer is reaching terminal stage. It'll be very difficult for everyone, they know they have to start to prepare themselves for the loss. I honestly don't know how I'd comfort my mom when she loses her own... I just hope I'll be securely employed by then, so that my mom can leave her own job if she needs to in order to have time to grieve.

Fortunately for her, my grandma doesn't have any belongings that would need to be sorted out like my father did. I didn't have proper time to grieve when he passed because I had to run after all the documents to make an inventory (we couldn't afford a lawyer, it's way too expensive, so I had to do pretty much everything on my own, it took months; and if we don't finish the inventory within the time demanded by law [and said time starts at the moment of the death], we have to pay a huge fine - my country sucks in that regard).

So, yeah, I basically just actually started grieving months later, and the time before that I was stressed to my limit having so much anguish inside but not having a break to release it, it was just terrible. But at least that worst part is kind of over, I'm slowly recovering now.

But, hey, wow, glad to hear you're engaged, that's great news! I don't think you had a fiancé already (if I'm remembering right, of course) last time we talked quite a while ago. I hope everything will go right for the two of you and that you'll have a happy marriage!

Alzheimer's is just so sad, my grandpa's in really poor shape and well it's just hard to just watch. You've
been through a heck of a lot, I'm just sorry everything's been so hard for you. 

Yeah we got engaged about two weeks after this April, planning on getting married next Sept.

Oh, dear, really sorry to hear about your grandpa. Yes, Alzheimer's feels like the person is dead there in front of you but their body is still alive. The terminal stage is even sadder than watching a person in a coma, because at least the person in come is unresponsive due to being unconscious, Alzheimer's terminal stage makes the person so gone they stop responding to you even though they're awake and can see and hear you... They might be surrounded by their family but it's just strangers to them. It doesn't matter how much support you give them at the very end, they still think they're alone. I can't think of a lonelier death than that...

Yeah my great-Grandma also suffered from Alzheimer's, it just feels like 
it affects so many people around us, and man does it ever.
