# About me
I can not draw to save my life but for some reason I can sculpt relatively well or so my totally biased friends all of which I could easily pound into dust say...then snicker and whisper as they walk away which I've yet to figure out. I also have found that I can paint miniatures pretty well. Yes I'm a tabletop geek and love to play and yes primarily GW although I highly admire Avatars of War(www.avatars-of-war.com/ ) and PrivateerPress(privateerpress.com/ ). GW is more "realistic" which I love, where as a lot of the models of PP, they just seem a bit cartoonish which I also like. I am looking to learn and produce digital art but at the moment do not have the $1800 to get what I need. If any of you have used and or can recommend one of the open source ones to get me started THAT IS SAFE and not full of shareware and adware, please let me know. Anyway, that's about it other than I have way to many building things hobbies and can make you a tiger out of toothpics if you want (yes I have actually done it, no I don't have any pics, and an unfortunate Beer Pong disaster destroyed it). I'm doing and going through a lot right now but I will try to get pics up soon. Love animals, sports, art, reading, learning, and disney. Comment as you will! The above Deviation is well a deviation of an original work done by fhoop used with his permission!Current Residence: Fishersville, VA
deviantWEAR sizing preference: XXL - I like it roomy
Print preference: hmmm...8x10 or smaller or something useful like a hoodie or a magnet or skin
Favourite genre of music: Classical (funny huh)
Favourite photographer: Velvet Paw from on here....amazing shots
Favourite style of art: I don't have one. I like what I like
Operating System: XP...hopefully soon to be 7
MP3 player of choice: iTunes
Favourite cartoon character: TAZ!!!!!!
Personal Quote: "Do or do not. There is no try" - Yoda (just in case)

No problem! Like I said, it's amazing work bar a few things you missed which can be fixed. The bases just need to be done in a manner befitting the incredible models that you painted!

Solav In reply to Crimson-Knight-Torg [2011-08-24 03:05:18 +0000 UTC]
yeah got any ideas how to remove the basing without trashing the model X.x

Crimson-Knight-Torg In reply to Solav [2011-08-24 12:26:03 +0000 UTC]
Depends. Are the feet resin, metal or plastic?
π: 0 β©: 1
Solav In reply to Crimson-Knight-Torg [2011-08-24 14:54:45 +0000 UTC]
plastic, their the terminator of chaos kit legs.
π: 0 β©: 1
Crimson-Knight-Torg In reply to Solav [2011-08-24 22:00:27 +0000 UTC]
ahh...that's easy to remove if you want. Honestly, to fix them, you don't have to. Do the glue base over the flock you already have. It shouldn't build up too much, flock isn't that weighty. If it looks like or you think it will be too much, then do you have spare bases? If so, since they are plastic, clip around the feet to remove the base (leaving the part of the base underneath the feet) then carefully clip the part still attached to the foot and file it smooth, then glue it to the new base. Resin is the hardest, metal the easiest (you just pull those suckers off!).

No problem, glad to help. I'll try to work on and post some of my own work soon. Had a rough year, moved 5 times and am just not starting to settle in.
Random question for you and if you wouldn't mind to your buddies. Would you pay for an Android / iPhone App that allowed you to build armies and save/export them to PDF (which you could mail to a printer at the local shop? I've been toying with both developing and designing what I think would be an awesome tool. $5 is my expected price. Reasonable? Pay more or less? Free updates as well, no recurring registration. Would love to do it as a platform that you could use on your PC/Mac, load onto your phone, and download lists from your phone. That's where the money would primarily come from. Cloud subscription service. If I could get GW on board (not likely, but the winds are definitely changing) then maybe even be able to have digital codex downloads with the purchase of the paper one. Any ideas?

looking forward to see what you produce, just so you know there is a 'first attempt renders' folder in the group for members to place their rubbish first renders, to ask for help and to show we all had to start somewhere, there is also a 'work in progress folder' to get advice and help in.
please feel free to ask if you need help, I have encountered most of the problems a new user comes up against and am always willing to answer questions

So far so good. Just released a game, so that's awesome. I think I need to do some more freelance illustration stuff. I just finished the Fizzby piece and it was a good time... mmmm yep... how you doin (in a brooklyn accent)

Released a game? PC or Console or something else? What is it?
I saw the Fizzby piece...it's, ok it's amazing as is all of your work, but you have NO idea how much I despise Gnomes! I will go after them in BG's just because they are there! LOL! I have to admit the introduction of the Worgen to the Allies is about the only reason I might make an Allie...otherwise FOR THE HORDE!!! That and the new "leader" of Org doesn't like my people very much. I haven't played in a 3 months though so.... I have a level 80 Tauren DK that I love and fully admit is completely broken What server are you on? BTW, I'm going to be buying some of your prints soon. It won't be much, I'm flat broke but I love your work...so say thanks when you get that check for 5 cents! LOL
Glad to have you back man...

FredHooper In reply to Crimson-Knight-Torg [2011-03-20 15:20:37 +0000 UTC]
heh! yeah I usually play gnomes or tauren... I've been messing with a worgen, but lately I've been too busy for the wow... sigh. Thanks again, I'm going to start working on some of the other project I've been putting off. NY is cool I like it. Its a bit much sometimes, but overall I like the place. Oh thanks for possibly buying prints. Thanks for reminding me... I need to re-up my premium membership for that. Well I hope all is well and take care!

What server are you on? I'll roll a char there or transfer my 60 warrior. My son just got me back into it so my Tauren DK is on Shattered Hand atm. East Coast Server by the way if you want to roll a new toon. I'll run with you.
You didn't answer, what game did you release?
Yeah I want to do the Worgen thing too because deep down, well, I love Werewolves and Wereanimals (played a Weretiger in D&D who became a Dragon Weretiger..freaking awesome char.).
Yeah NY can definitely get overwhelming. I've lived in Boston and visted NYC and Long Island (was engaged to a girl from there...who slept with my best friend...sucks). Boston is my favorite city in the world so long.
Yeah sorry I didn't buy anything yet but I will soon. I'm trying to get this house and once I do, I'll have someplace to actually showcase your stuff I'm working on opening a shop down here (I live in VA, about 30 min. west of Charlottesville) that is going to have crafts, art, antiques, etc. I wanted to sell some of your prints for you if you are cool with that. I don't know when it's going to get off the ground but I'd love to have your art in my store and definitely try to get you some money coming in on the side
Good luck with the project and keep up the dialogue!

Hey man,
I'm considering getting out of WOW, since its been cutting into my making art time. I need to be making the arts! I just released Homefront as the FX Supervisor. If you want to sell prints go right ahead, but no rush I'll be here for a long time! Talk to you soon!
