Thanks man yeah my portfolio is in NCAD as we speak then i'll be bringing it to DIT and IADT aswell next month. What are you doing in NCAD??

Best of luck in the results man I'm in 2nd year Vis Com in NCAD. It's deadly - drawing and sitting on the computer in a nice clean studio haha.

Yeah there seems to be a lot of that attitude toward Ncad, you're probably right in saying that it comes from people being refused. The thing my art teacher was saying about the Iadt Vis Com to the Ncad Vis Com is that Iadt is better setup in the technological side of things which I think mostly makes up the Vis Com course? I'm not sure if that is right? The other attractive thing about Iadt is that you know you start straight away on the course. I think I would prefer that than doing the core year. What did you think of the core year? I've been to both colleges open days and they're both really nice the vis com studio is class in Ncad I must say!

Thanks very much! Thats exactly what I want to do Vis Com i'd love to do it! According to my art teacher though she said IADTs Vis Com is better than NCADs, what do you make of that? She also went to NCAD btw

I really don't know, dude. Naturally I'd like to think that NCAD's is the better course. I've seen the studios in IADT, and they differ at least in layout.

I know from experience that a lot of the other colleges have a bad attitude when it comes to any mention of NCAD. It seems to be mostly "we're just as good if not better, and they're all snobs anyways"; I don't know where this comes from, I suppose some people's feelings were hurt when they weren't accepted so they've naturally borne a small grudge. So I don't know if that might skew the opinions of each course, at least from the students point of view. So, from that bad beef, I think your best way to get a good view would be to call in to see the colleges yourself Our head of department regularly shows people around the studio, so it'd be no bother! I can meet you afterwards aswell if you like, but I think you should meet him first because he'll tell you exactly what it's like and where the strengths and weaknesses are compared to other colleges.
