What is sanity? Is it mental stability? Or is it our perception of reality? Does an answer even exist? Just maybe there’s no mental state called sanity; maybe it’s all just an illusion. What if the sane aren’t the sane, & the insane are the sane? How do we know that what they see doesn’t exist, the voices that they hear aren’t really speaking? Why do we imprison them in asylums and institutions when we have no idea if they’re crazy? Their world might be the real one & we just lack the ability to perceive it. We might be locking ourselves out of reality by locking them in. Maybe we should contemplate the fact that we could be the insane & abnormal whereas they’re normal. Maybe we need to have them teach us to see what they see, but we just chain them up. If they perceive the world for what it really is then what are we seeing? Maybe the question is what aren’t we seeing. Do we lack a 6th sense that the unstable possess? Sanity is such a fragile thing, so easy to lose, so easy to break. Questions & curiosity are the biggest enemy of sanity. Asking such questions as these could make you snap. Reading this could cause you to ponder and think, driving you crazy because you can’t find the answers. People just take things as they’re given to them, not taking a second to think it over or the consequences. People fear the unknown.
