Ok, I lied. I read the first half. XD It was super awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. =] I think I'm going to compile all my favorites and turn them into mantras or something, haha.

Now, back to my homework...

Yeah, I basically stopped using AIM. I'm doing pretty well for the most part. Bombarded with school and college stuff, but other than that, it's all good.

Thanks. =] I don't have time to read the whole thing now, but that does look interesting.

What school are you going to attend?
I got that article this morning and I felt it was really inspiring. I'll definitely try writing a bit more now.

Not sure yet. I was accepted at UMass Amherst and invited to the Commonwealth Honors College (it's within UMass; if I go there, I'll definitely do that). And I'm in the process of applying to Columbia College Chicago. I'm visiting in a few weeks. I'll probably make my decision then. Or if I get rejected, then I have no choice, hah.

yaseacabo In reply to Danceswithwind [2010-02-22 04:49:41 +0000 UTC]

UMass Amherst is actually an awesome school, and it's bloody cheap for MA Residents. Columbia college i think it's an art school located in Downtown Chicago. Chicago is actually an awesome city, but I'm not sure if you would like an urban setting with little to no campus. I don't. About reputation, I'm not sure about Columbia college, but I heard it's a decent art school. Umass in the other handis one of the nation's best public schools and a great bang for your bucks.
A good thing about Columbia college is that a lot of people confuse it With Columbia university, the Ivy League School in NYC. I have some friends who go to Columbia in NYC and they're pissed about the fact, but people going to Columbia College don't mind the mistake at all!

Danceswithwind In reply to yaseacabo [2010-02-22 05:00:29 +0000 UTC]

There's a lot of major cons about UMass. Living in Massachusetts, I know that it's not exactly a school most people go to for a good education. And I can't stand half the people that go there.

I like the idea of living in a city. I never have; it's time for a change. But yeah, I think I know a lot more about it that you do. I research before I apply. I like it because it has a Fiction Writing major and its literary magazine has won awards over Ivy League schools' literary magazine.

That kind of makes me feel stupid, though--the thought of going to a place that people confuse with an Ivy Leage school.

yaseacabo In reply to Danceswithwind [2010-02-22 05:25:35 +0000 UTC]

you might be right about that; Ivy league schools are not All-around excellent. A lot of smaller schools beat the crap out of them in several academic disciplines. If you feel that Columbia college can provide what you're looking for in your education, then go for it. Downtown Chicago is an awesome place to live, but I wouldn't choose it for an undergraduate experience. That's the reason why i chose Penn over Columbia U. NYC was just too distracting for me. I went to UMASS Amherst and I loved what I saw. It might be a party school, but that will depend on you. good luck!

Heya!

I've been kind of curious and now's a good time as any to ask. What exactly is the significance of "Azilda"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azilda In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-03-13 19:33:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, Azilda is my middle name. And it was my great great grandma's name, which she was a really good person apparently; I was named after her. She died a year before I was born.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Danceswithwind In reply to Azilda [2009-03-26 22:40:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh really? That's such a cool name. I've never heard it before. I thought it was like...a character's name or just some random letters that turned out to make a really pretty word. I wish I had a super-awesome middle name, haha.

(Took me forever to reply to this, haha. Oh well)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azilda In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-03-27 00:57:17 +0000 UTC]

Hah, there's also a name called Ezilda which sounds really close to Azilda and I discovered that on the grave of a relative yesterday actually. So, that may be a choice for a kid's name or something, I dunno yet, since I don't plan on having kids for awhile. (oops rambling.)

What's your middle name? Lol. I'm curious now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Danceswithwind In reply to Azilda [2009-03-27 01:42:27 +0000 UTC]

I never want to have kids, but I already know my daughter's name's going to be Amelie. XD Or Amily. Either one, they sound the same.
(I tend to ramble, too, so don't worry about that one bit. XD)

Same middle name as everyone else's, haha. Elizabeth. It's booooring. I wish it were my first name instead, though. Because there aren't any nicknames for Sarah and there are approximately three million for Elizabeth. You know.

MsCrys In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-08-08 04:50:57 +0000 UTC]

MsCrys In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-08-08 04:50:42 +0000 UTC]

I'll trade you my middle name for yours any day. Anne is simply the most boring there is.

Amelie..is that from the best movie ever? s it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Danceswithwind In reply to MsCrys [2009-08-08 06:16:18 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that is true. Elizabeth isn't the most boring. Then again, better to have a boring middle name than an awful middle name.

Yessss it is. =] Plus, I just love the name, haha.

MsCrys In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-08-08 06:26:45 +0000 UTC]

It's a great name and an excellent choice!

Azilda In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-03-27 18:39:50 +0000 UTC]

My mom was going to name me Elizabeth or Haley, but she didn't like the nicknames for Elizabeth, and she liked the sound of Shelby better therefore I was named Shelby. I have too many weird nicknames. Because Shelby doesn't have that many normal nicknames. Aha.

Yay we both ramble!!!! ;D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Danceswithwind In reply to Azilda [2009-03-28 17:40:01 +0000 UTC]

I like the name Shelby. It's really cute and it's not too common. I don't like my name really...it's too Biblical. XD

Nicknames never stick for me. The only ones that stuck for any period of time was Slutty Tinkerbell (long story), Playboy Bunny (even longer story), and Movie Movie (my boyfriend's just weird). And only certain people called me any of those. *shrug* I'm just not a nicknamey sort of person.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azilda In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-03-28 22:11:41 +0000 UTC]

There's been more Shelby's appearing lately. My mom was like "EVERY KEEPS STEALING IT!" Lol.
My mom is preggo and she's thinking of naming my little bro Roman. Which is really not common at all.

Yeah, I get some pretty weird nicknames. The one that has been sticking lately for me is Strange One. Cause let's face it I can be pretty strange sometimes. People have been calling me Shelb for the longest time, but it's finally going away. Aha, I don't find it that original just take off the "y" from my name and there it is!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Danceswithwind In reply to Azilda [2009-03-30 04:18:52 +0000 UTC]

That's a pretty cool name. It kinda makes me think of Grand Theft Auto 4, though. XD 'Cause Nico's cousin's name is Roman, hah. He's Russian. Or...something.

There's a song called Strange One by the Goo Goo Dolls! It's pretty good; I used to be obsessed with it. I used the screen name "passionjunkie" from it because it has a line that goes, "A passion junkie's fix is never satisfied. You're never gonna break his heart, so have some fun, abuse it." It's a neat song. Wait no! Duh. It's called Strange LOVE, but it goes, "Strange love, you're a strange one." That's it. Ok. endramble. XP

I hate it when people shorten names like that. If I tried to make "Shelby" into a nickname, I'd probably just say something weird like "Shelbzors." But I'd imagine that'd get even more annoying. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azilda In reply to Danceswithwind [2009-03-30 18:45:10 +0000 UTC]

Hah, atleast you'd be creative with your nickname choosing? Yay!

My mom's boyfriend is like obsessed with Batman comic books, and the name Roman apparently jumped out at him. But for now I call my brother Bob.

And do you have a AIM?

Thanks for adding me. BTW, I am a New Englander as well, and I would completely suggest Savannah College of Art and Design. I go there and its great! Classes are only about 20 people, just as big as a high school class and there are so many subjects! Anyways, I'll end it there. If you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Take care.

Oh yes, I have quite the fetish. I actually have two heads and a body right now. The heads are Giselle (the one in my ID) and Amy and the body is Celeste. I don't know why I like them so much, they're just super sexy and have amazing stories behind them.
