I'm assuming you meant to ask if you should reopen requests. Just in case, yeah! It's a fun way of getting practice for your art. So keep reminding yourself that it's fun and not a chore unless you make it stressful. It's all about your attitude. As for the work load, I was dumb and forgot that people LOVE the word free xD so if youre going to share to the public that youre doing free art, be aware that a lot of people will take the opportunity to request your art. Only thing i can really say is to keep an eye on your journal (or whatever you post for free requests). Maybe about 1-2 hours check to see how many people respond.

I would probably stop after about 15 requests. I think thats how much i had. Before i realized i should close the requests.

Dont do anything youre uncomfortable with either. Make sure you thoroughly read the requests. Dont just say "ok 15 people im done" cause 5 of those requests, for example, might be something youre not into.

You should also make a disclaimer of what you can or cant draw and what youre not okay with drawing. Make sure they are aware of your time frame. You dont have to give an expected day, but it might be smart to let them know like "hey it might take me a while to respond with results because life" so theyre not always pestering you to the point you want to pull your hair out.

Edit: Also if you want to make it easier for yourself, you can make requirements that people must follow in order to accept their requests. For example, if you would like to have a rough idea of someone's character, you can have them include a character sheet, a reference of what they look like, and a brief description of their personality.
