Hi! Thank you for having seen my gallery and thanks for your compliments!
Now I'm trying to explain how I color.

1.First of all, I lower the opacity of the black contours (about 26%).(it must remain above all other).

2.Then, I create a new layer  , under the contours, and I color the area with a brush with soft edges (OPACITY 100%).

3. Now, I have one colour, and so I create the shadows with lots of darker colours, with the same brush ( OPACITY about 30%-40%-50%)

4.For coloring the nose, the eyes and the mouth, I usually change brush, (both for the light that for the shadow), and I use the "Aerografo penna flusso opaco", in English I think is "Airbrush pen flow opaque" (maybe?) [anyway is a brush a bit 'harder, with the edges slightly sharpe...u will find it in basic brushes]
I use it also for small lights on the skin. (OPACITY 30-40-50 %, DIM. SMALL)

5. I create a new layer for the lights (I'm a layers-maniac, couse they are so useful! You can work on one of them without change the others, and If you don't like the results, you can eliminate it).

6. When I'm satisfied with the work, with the rubber (in the settings of "Airbrush pen flow opaque", (OPACITY 100%, SMALL) I delete the colors that have gone out of the contours (the first layer).

7. if the drawing is clear and tidy, I delete the first layer. Sometimes, in the order to make more evident the contours, I  let it in that position with the same opacity, or a bit higher (never more than 60%).

8. Now, I have sO many layers (about 50 ahahahah), so I unite them. REMEMBER! NEVER NEVER DRAW ON THE LEVEL OF BACKGROUND. JUST CREATE LAYERS ABOVE IT, AND WORK ON THEM. ONLY IF YOU REALLY SURE YOU HAVE FINISHED, YOU CAN UNITE THEM ALL (ALSO WITH THE BACKGROUND).


9.Yeah! I've just finished my work. I hurt my back, the neck and my eyes burn.

Grazie mille! Io mi sono innamorata dei tuoi ritratti, e quello di jared leto è davvero stupendo! Perchè non provi a fare dei ritratti del genere al computer? Io all'inizio con Photoshop non ci capivo una mazza, ma alla fine disegno dopo disegno ho acquistato maggiore dimestichezza Complimenti!!

yea...I've seen it and it's cool but try not to trace the outline...just imagine that there are only shadows and not lines.
In this way, your portraits will be more realistic

well i only did that because all the time my teachers are saying that my sketchy lines ruins the craftsmanship of my drawings
