That means a lot to me as we've been on DA for years.
I've not been that active but that's a great comment from you.
Thank you and I've seen your work evolve and grow like art should.
Keep it going.

You are such a good artist and your +watch is super appreciated!!! Please comment any time with critiques. I love hearing how I can improve if you've got the time. I am drawing a manga right now, and any feed back on the story is extremely appreciated. here is page 1:

Thank you!
To be honest, I am not great at giving critique. But your manga is one of the reasons why I am watching you. Planning to read it. Keep up the fantastic work!

I find your artwork fascinating. The elves and other creatures are drawn beautifully well. Keep up the good work.

Too much Mundania!
But in recent weeks I have rebelled,
and have made more progress than in the eight preceding months.
I am resolved to build a model of Arrinda, if it’s the last thing I do!
That includes surrounding lake and landscape; gardens, architecture, and, inhabitants!
I want a decent amount of detail, so in coming weeks I’ll just post a grand WIP
showing grayscales and wireframes and some of the method to this madness,
and then, a closeup with a piece of dialog.

I would love to see that model. It sounds like a lot of work, but also like it will be worth it.
Mundani can be very time-consuming, yes.

See? You will!
If so it be just wireframes,
but I feel the urge to show some of the geometrical gobbledygook
that’s been going into this thing.
Galat Arrinda is supposed to mean, literally: Symmetry Broken,
an explicit allusion to the cosmological concept ,
which boils down to the fact that perfect symmetry may be very beautiful (e.g. crystals) but it is sterile;
in order to have Life, and Movement, symmetry must be broken.
Not so much that you no longer recognize the underlying symmetry,
so, yeah; I’ve put a lot of trial-and-error into that. And on it goes.

Hehe, Merry Christmas!
Well, this year there is no need for that yet I still have one till the end of 2014 But thank you so much for thinking about me <3

Think about you? Yes! All the time.
And thanks for faving my WIP of
This year (and all of 2014, I suspect)
I’m hellbent on showing at least ONE city of Mayam-Bä,
from surrounding landscape to cityscape to furniture and,
of course, inhabitants!
Try this: choose any snapshot of bustling street life on DA;
then ask for More like this in the category Digital 3D,
and you’ll see nothing like a bustling street scene!
With the possible exception of or
In hours of searching, the closest I have found to what I’m aiming for
is this way-too-short animation:
Either that, or a panorama that the viewer can pan around in.
Both, if I live long enough.

I am curious about your project to show a city of Mayam-Bä! It sounds like a big project, too.
Had to laugh about those rubber fetish cities nothing against rubber (ahem ahem), but that is not a city I would like to live in
A panorama in which the viewer can pan around in? You mean that would change the view according to the movement of the cursor/mouse, like in computer games?

...rubber fetish...Well, you have to admit that his sense of female allure is hard to outdo,
and when he does show faces, he gets some expressions dead on;
my favorite is this one:
That snapshot characterizes her so well to me:
rich and spoiled and very attractive, just slightly past her prime;
accustomed to being obeyed, she has not yet fathomed what a serious bind she’s in.
We catch her right before annoyance morphs into frustration, unease, anxiety—
I love it.
Panoramas, yes. Here on DA we have a Flash-fan who does it quite well,
and we had a polemic exchange regarding the fact that,
nowadays, one can achieve the VR effect, with no plugins,
using html alone (html at a level that DeviantArt accepts and, in fact, demands).
In the absence of Sarit, I’m resigned to modeling her home town.
Because her culture defines itself largely by opposition to what came before
(which looked very much like our world here),
a lot of simple things that we take for granted are not quite so.
Something as basic as our four cardinal directions:
they’ve convinced themselves that five is better, and they flaunt it.
By “city” do we mean streets and avenues lined by buildings?
Not Arrinda!
No skyscrapers, no levitating freeways; rarely a straight line or a right angle.
That means that I have no use for ready-made 3D models, so it’s gonna take a while.

Five directions? That might be interesting to play with, considering the golden ration which is present in the pentagram...

Mir gehts gut

DarionDamage In reply to Gobbo12 [2013-08-07 20:10:14 +0000 UTC]
Intuitiv.
