Wow! I was floored, when I saw you had showed up.
It's been ages, it seems. I hope everything is well with you.
We'll have to do some catching up. Thank you for the fav's!

Yeah it has been ages, like a whole year. Everything has been fine we've just been relocating as usual. I didn't have access to my computer for most of the year & we only had measly mobile broadband. But now my computer is up & running & we finally got NBN broadband. I've got so much internet to catch up on. You're welcome . Hope to see some new art from you, it makes me miss graphite. Hopefully one day soon I'll be able to put pencil to paper again.

I'm even worse about replying than I was before. Wow
Relocating, still? Your family is a bit on the nomadic side, it seems.
Not a bad thing I guess but, you never seemed to like it much.
Glad you have your computer up and running again. A year is a long time
to be without. I'll have to check for new art from you, while I'm here. As in,
as soon as I finish replying to you.
I'm working (slowly) on a drawing using some colored pencils my daughter
got me for Christmas. I'm not good with colored pencils but, I decided to do
things my own way. A combination of color, and graphite. So far, it's interesting.
We'll see tho'. Β Finishing is always the killer. Β
I'd love to see you do some graphite again. You had some really great stuff, there.
If I remember, you also did an awesome portrait of Anthony Quinn, wasn't it? I'll
have to look back. I remember you had a few portraits that were fantastic.
It may take awhile but, I'll keep in touch. Message me anytime.

I like routine & having everything in it's place. I absolutely hate moving, it's chaos & uncertainty. Hopefully it will be over soon.
I've pretty much lost all concept of time. A year can go by in a flash. I don't know where all the time has gone.
I love coloured pencils, but I'm pretty clueless with them. I like to use them thick & heavy, lots of bright colour.
I didn't have much luck combing them with graphite, they got kind of muddy. I just stuck to pops of red.
I'm amazed at what some people can do with coloured pencils alone. They blend them like paint.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.Β Finishing is the best part, when you add that final touch & everything comes together it's Heaven.
I find the longer I take, the quicker I loose interest & the harder it gets to finish. Hence I have a heap of unfinished stuff. I'm trying to speed up though.
I really want to create art like my old graphite & pen stuff. My digital art is a bit safe & sterile in comparison.
Yeah I did portraits during my graphite class. I took them down. Replicating photos is great practice, but I don't get much out of it.
Ditto. It's always nice to hear from you. It reminds me why I'm doing this.

I don't like disorganization and unpredictability, either.Β
Seems to be a way of life, for both of us.Β
I'm sort of doing my own thing with the colored pencils.Β
It's not really muddy, combined with the graphite but,
it's not all bright, and shiny, either. I figure I need to start somewhere.Β
If I mess up this time, hopefully I'll learn from it, and improve next time.
Taking a long time to finish just seems to be the norm, for me. I'm too fussy aboutΒ
everything being as good as it can be. Which, even when it's finally completed, isn't
good enough. Β The way the edges of this reply don't line up, would freak
me out too, if I'd let it. I'm trying to ignore it now. WowΒ
It wouldn't hurt to get out the old pencils, and paper and doodle, you know?Β
The worse thing that could happen is you'd end up with another WIP. I don't toss
anything, anymore. Things I started a couple years ago that I thought were terrible,Β
start to look better with time. You never know where your next masterpiece will
come from, I guess.
Glad I can have a positive impact on your feelings about your artwork. I'll try to get
my act together, and reply sooner, in the future. I don't plan on going anywhere so,
I should really finish some of my WIPs, and keep better track of what's going on, on DA.
I still enjoy it, and still have friends here. I'm going to see if I can get a decent scan
of that new drawing I'm working on. If I can remember how to do it, I'll send you a link.
I'm looking to see if they still have the STASH gallery. I don't see it. I'll figure something out,
either way. Catch you later.

Yeah I haven't doodled in forever. I can't seem to find the time. I used to doodle all the time. I've got notebooks & folders full of old doodles. Sometimes they're worth revisiting. I want to try & finish some old stuff. It's just hard pushing past the "this is sh*t" reflex. lol. Yeah STASH is there in the upload menu. I don't know what it's for. I've barely scratched the surface of DA. I'm sure there's lots of stuff I'm missing out on. It's just too complicated. Later.

Thanks for the favorite! Some lovely drawings you've got going on here--working in grayscale is so soothing sometimes, isn't it? The Count Bunula makes me think of Bunnicula, too, haha.

You're welcome. I really like your style. I've just gotten into the habit of using greyscale because I don't have that much experience with colour. I am trying though, it's just a little garish. Wow never heard of Bunnincula, must be a little before my time. lol.

It's intelligent music,I think. Maynard is the only person I can think of (maybe Robert Plant) that can get away with using words like, decadence and coalesce in a song. I listen to them all the time. I'm on limited time tonight. I'll reply to the hard stuff soon.

I can't take his name seriously though it makes me think of Mayonnaise and Mustard mixed together. But yeah he pulls off the lyrics really well without sounding overly angsty or up himself. I really like his music it's nice to listen to. My friend got me onto them. I like VAST as well. I finally looked them up after hearing "Touched" on Angel episode 2. Is it just me or are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel totally addictive. I've had my second Buffy marathon since I got the DVDs. I like the Aeon Flux animations too, very surreal. I'm just a glutton for entertainment.

That's funny. I wonder if he got teased alot growing up. I've never heard VAST. I'll look into it. I'm always looking for new music. Entertainment junkie, huh? Better than an emoticon junkie.

Well I can't vouch for everyone else, that's just the whacky combo that comes into my brain when I hear his name. Entertainment is just good fun. I love music, movies and series, books, video games and of course art, and dreams when I can remember them.

I laughed out loud when I read that. You do have a sense of humor. Yay for you! A different type of creativity. I love entertainment. It's so darn....entertaining. I have a dark side but I love to laugh. My own personal dichotomy. I make good use of all my emotions. Unlike my emoticons. By the way, what happened to yours? I'm an idiot. What's your excuse? I have a book on interpretting dreams. I used keep a notebook by my bed so I could write them down right away. Interesting. I found it a few years later. I saw my handwriting but forgot I had done that.(the notebook was for other things too) Scared me at first. I sure got shot and stabbed alot. Couldn't run very fast either,as I recall. Do you dream in color? I'm never sure if I do. Seems like it tho'.

DarkRayneRules In reply to Meltin [2009-11-15 19:42:17 +0000 UTC]
I feel the same. I mean sometimes I feel really dark and serious and other times I just feel goofy and laugh at the most mundane things. Sometimes I feel kind of split in two, but I know now it all comes together. I'm trying not to use emoticons so much because I have the most embarrassing habit of making faces when I do. Like how I nod my head when I'm speaking on the telephone. I don't mind too much but people like to jokingly make fun of my quirks. Damn people. I have four books on interpreting dreams. Trouble is sometimes the things you dream about aren't quite covered. I dream about bodies of water a lot, that's got something to do with your subconscious. And I've often had dreams about all my teeth falling out, which has to do with confidence or something I can't remember, and surprise surprise Freud linked teeth dreams to masturbation. That guy had some serious issues, or he was just very "frisky" lol. I used to write them down but I got lazy. I'm pretty sure I dream in colour. Never dreamed of being shot or stabbed. I dreamed I had a whole in my arm once, but that turned out to be a very numb arm in real life (I had it over my head). I remember back in school they'd always have you sitting down cross legged. One time my leg got so numb it felt like it was just bone. It felt terrible, not like the hilarious numb face from getting teeth pulled. I for one find numb lips quite entertaining.
