I was a US Army soldier, 101st Airborne, until last year. I went home on a medical discharge.
I did have a dA account before but I deactivated it due to some personal reasons. But I got bored and decided to come back.
I won't upload many of my war photos, only a few of my favorites. Please do not comment or note me with anything related to the Iraq war.

you don't like to speak about Iraq... I understand that.
but using Hitler's quote on "This Truck is Hot" is not very inspiring.
there is no fighting in that picture, just a poor Iraqi's car (not armored Soviet vehicle) getting blown up for kicks!

I know a lot of people are against the war and all it stands for, but I give a lot of respect to the soldiers. War is war, and it's not glorious, but it's something that has to be done. For your safety, my safety, the whole nation's safety.
And anyone who can't respect that should have a lot of hell to pay.

Yeah, I got plenty of shit for it, let's just say I left dA and completely avoided the internet for a short period because of it. It was stressing me out and causing all sorts of problems, and having PTSD didn't help.

:/ dA is pretty stressful. I've gotten a lot of shit for my own political affiliations and such, and it was ridiculous.
Of course, I still really find it hard to fathom society seems to reject our soldiers. Of course, then again, our society is riddled with bleeding-heart liberals who don't seem to understand the desperation and necessity of war. :/
And yes, having PTSD didn't help. I'm really sorry that you had to fight in such an area, for a nation like ours with..well, little moral standing in my opinion, but that you had to return home unappreciated.

Well, Prozac seems to help, lol. And I've learned to just ignore the comments and strike back at the ones I can get ammo on. It's kind of fun now and it helps relieve my real life stress a little.
You don't have to be sorry for the ingrates that I live around.
