They are! I fostered four brothers a while back and one of them had there new mom so worried she came over.... she was scared cause he was lethargic. he had just hit puberty. He was just normal adult boy lazy.

I've never fostered rats, how does that go? Normally I 'rescue' little ones from pet stores that are meant to be snake food.

One of my boys, Simon, still thinks he's a tiny bean and is always non-stop bouncing and playing. I've gotten him and my other boy Buddy some fancy rat toys for them to play with but they just prefer bits of cardboard to fling around at each other lol
My girls are in a big tall cage so they have plenty of climbing room. I put empty paper towel rolls and fleece hammocks between the bars so they act as a kind of shelf/a soft breaker if they slip and fall. None of my girls like the fancy rat toys either haha

I rescued them as the guy who had them was not aware his female rat was pregnant so I took the boys off his hands. it's really only for experienced owners who know how to medicate and have the funds.
