# About me
I think its about time I updated this thing. Well the name is Deron and I want to become a concept artist. I've been away from deviant art to practice and hone my skills to get better. Currently I'm going to a community college but by the end of the summer I will be going to a university to get my BFA. While going to this community college I realized how unrealistic it was to go for a game design degree. At this moment I'm more proficient in sketching then I am in Digital art but I'm working on it. I grew up with only paper and pencil with me all the time. I wished I had at least a computer so I would have know about digital art so I could practice it while I was young. I grew up thinking that since I practice drawing every day that I would be ahead of people my age because were I came from no one drew as much as me. but once I got to the community college and took a class for story boarding I saw I was actually far behind. Defeat is not an option for me I am working my hardest to get better so I can land a job in the industry.Favourite genre of music: Rap, hip-hop, R&B

That said, I have a request. :3Β a kaijin AKA giant humanoid monster you could design for me if it interests ya. It's gotta be something that could look make Godzilla look like a kitten. Bigger, stronger, nastier, you name it. Nothing specific in mind for how it looks, only that I don't want it to look like anything from Earth. Β Very weird, totally alien. Your are pretty good for not going to school for it. Well I dont have a genre I would do some for I want to be diverse in my concept art so I can do anything. I rather get in a project for a new game to do concepts for, but I think I will get into a company like Insomniac or Raven big companies who already something going. Soon Ill be doing stuff that are my interpretation of an already set style and character. Most likely ill be doing more of re designing characters then designing my own. What do you want to do art for.

Thats really cool and smart thinking! I would prefer to just be freelance but be popular enough that I never struggle for work. I do design some app stuff now, such as app icons and the user interface and such, which is surprisingly fun

The hard part is learning all I need to know to become a concept artist. I'm not sure if it will actually be hard trying to land a job when im done with school, but im sure once im done I will have learn a lot to at least have a better chance of getting in. There is actually a nice high demand for concept artist in big companies such as those because not everyone can do concept art.

Well not necessarily you can get into the industry if your really good, but since I wasn't really good one thing they look for is for you to at least have a Bachelors or some kind of 4year degree. Im going to school to get my Bachelors in Art. Well there are a lot of aspects of art that I need to be able to do with out struggle since the gaming industry is a business they shouldn't have to wait for me to do concepts and waste their time. Things like learning anatomy, color theory, character design, ect.. will all help me to become a concept artist. Not to mention learning from the pros will help. Watching videos and looking through Art of books help to see the standards and what kind of stuff they will be looking for.

Yeah exactly! This is why I am also going to school...because then I can learn different programs like 3D Max and such. I am also going to school so I can have more options in the art industry because soem companies require at least a Bachelors...its like a check mark kind of thing. Thats really cool that you are striving for this career that you seem so passionate about! A lot of people arent passionate about their work anymore and its nice to meet someone who is truly enthusiastic
