# About me
Hi, I’m Dominique Duong, a freelance illustrator and concept artist working in London, United Kingdom. I work in both traditional and digital media – sometimes combining the two approaches – and my skills cover a wide range of subjects, such as editorial and book illustration, concept art, story-boarding, game UI and comics. I enjoy working on both highly detailed pieces as well as looser, simpler ones.I’m fascinated by the macabre, the surreal and the magical, and strive to capture that in my art. Mythology, fairy tales, nature, folklore, travelling and music are all huge influences for me, but at heart, it is storytelling that forms the core of my work. In my daily life, there’s always a narrative, story idea or character conversation running in the back of my mind, filling my mind with daydreams.

Yep! It's a lot of fun, I've been cast as Grete in The Metamorphosis
I've got two. One's theme is 'Imbalance', and I was thinking creating my own fantasy story/world about activism and civil rights. The other project we've got a range of themes to pick from: enchantment & disenchantment, regeneration & degeneration and conflict & resolution. Not so sure what I'm doing for that yet, but I was thinking maybe something with vampires or witches or eldrith abominations (definitely something gothic-inspired). What about you, what have you been up to since you graduated?

Well not much , i mean i still waiting to obtain my Uni degree in order to get a job
I been challenging myself and pushing my sleeping inspiration back to work

That's good you're pushing your inspiration, but sometimes it's good to just draw something 'cause you want to without thinking too much about whether it's good or improving.
Beside drama? Not really. Actually, I'm starting a new job in November (only for a few weeks, though). It's with the uni, I'm making calls to our uni's alumni.

Yeah, even if I'm not inspired, I try to draw anyway, otherwise I'd never get round to drawing again.
I'm phoning our uni's alumni to ask them how they're doing, update them on news and to donate to some of our uni's charitable projects.

Well i'm not sure what i'm looking for anymore
Since i'm not the best at what i been studying and the banking industry isn't the best option at the moment
I temp to do any job that provide enough money & not so out of my reach (although it's all wishful thinking)
