So that's basically what Tai Lung and Master Shifu would look like as humans fighting.

WELL THEN, OF COURSE I WOULD LIKE IT.

With an original flair, earth fighting sky elemental themes going on. Nice inspiration. The colors in this are just off the charts eye candy.

The kitsune trickster figure has been an interest of mine. In some parts of the world, anyone who can transform themselves into an animal like that is considered to be very talented with magic (often associated with black magic.) The lore is always fascinating.

I love how the elements play into it so nonchalantly. It didn't need explanation, build up or anything; Just felt like absorbing mineral earth onto my forearms like the most badass boxing gloves ever, no big deal. And while I'm at it, I'm going to jump into the sky and just throw a few lightnings in my pocket

I love the music though in particular. Those Chinese drums.... *A*

I know that the Japanese have a lore about foxes often being beautiful female spirits in disguise. I feel like there's a lesson to be learned here...... and sure enough, I dun missed it completely

The rock gloves make my boxing gloves look like wimpy little balls of floof. :< 

And yeah, the instrumentals were perfect with the animation. This is animation is amazing. It furthers my opinion that indie projects can be sometimes more astounding than some mainstream stuff.

Have you watched Ronin 47? If not, it's actually okay considering it didn't get the best reviews. There's a fox witch character in there too. She has trans formative powers that goes even further than just turning into a fox, though. In the lore, because they are tricksters, they can be easily be construed as "evil" and messing with people just for the sake of messing with people.

Sort of makes me want to make a character that's like that, but just tricks people, and isn't necessarily malicious.

I haven't, but do you mean that recent one, with Keanu Reeves? I know it's an older story, so I wasn't sure if there's multiple movies of it. Tell me this: What's the quality of the action? On a scale of Crouching Tiger to Ten (Ten being something like Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man), how's the fights?

Yep the one with Keanu Reeves. It's the 2013 version. The fight scenes are a fair combination of the two movie fight styles you mentioned. The Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon type fighting goes along with the flow-y, martial art style of the general movie, but also includes a fair bit of supernatural/monster fights as well, sort of like the Amazing Spider man (didn't watch the movie, but I have seen clips of Peter fighting monster-y things, and there are some fights like that, from what I remember, in Ronin 47.)

The biggest let down I guess was the ending to Ronin. It wasn't a bad ending, it just wasn't as fairy tail an ending as a lot of people would want. Ironically, it was probably the most accurate part of the entire movie (as it is loosely based on a real group of samurai called Ronin 47: 47 samurai were in the group during the Edo period in Japan.) And what happened at the end is what actually happened to the group. It's worth watching if you can rent it very cheap. The Japanese mysticism and folklore is hidden within the movie and I think a lot of people missed how much attention to detail there was packed in there.

I KNOW RIGHT! Lila Ren (Wren) would be an amazing fox-witch. It's a reworking of what was once a anthropomorphic fox into a human with fox medicine and transformation. Stay tuned for concept artz

Those are definitely two different types of "brain monsters..." but the name change has a very different meaning.




The name is a metaphor: when we're not feeling mentally well or stable, our dark thoughts and fears are like monsters making a home in our brain, and eating away at our minds.

But I'm taking the concept, while still grim, and turning it into something weirdly sublime as well.

It's also the name of the square space blog I'm slowly making happen, and I figured I'd change my DA to match.

I got off of FB because of some massive BS that had to do with some wicked drama in real life, where I live. It was a spur of the moment decision but my reasons are very solid.

The site was sorta sucking the life out of me over time anyway for personal reasons. Nothing to do with our, or some of my other friend's interactions.
