I remember coming across The Void a few times but never actually thought much of it. Obscure seems interesting while Observer reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077, made by the CD Projekt, the guys behind the Witcher series. Observer seems to be set in a dysotpian futuristic Poland.

I didnt think of cyberpunk 2077 vibes at all. all we ever had from that game was a short teaser. The peope that  make observer is Bloober Team which is in poland XD they made Layers of fear, you can feel the similarities in those game.

Okey-dokey! Dishonored 2 would be a blast, at least hopefully. The creators are quite ambitious and let's hope for a more ambiguous ending.

By the way, I've been reading Mike Mignola's Baltimore series lately. It's a great comic and I like it's post-WW1 horror setting.

Man, I love the atmosphere. It reminds me of Clive Barker's Undying. It also makes me think of an anime that would make a grim antithesis to the Sakura Wars franchise. I want a gritty heroine who fights monsters in the midst of a supernatural - and politically-charged - climate.

EvilDemonKitty In reply to EddyVance [2016-05-05 13:36:13 +0000 UTC]

I have never heard of undying but I have watched a lot of clive barkers movies. But yes there should be for that genre. Prob not even close to that, but I've been recommened to read Saga for a while and saw that they are on sale on amazon so I might pick up and vol or two to see how I like it.

here a bunch od new dishonored 2 info

  • Visually the game pretty much looks like a more detailed version of the last game.
  • Before anyone asks, there’s no co-op, as they weren’t sure how to design that in.
  • The game runs on a modified version of idtech5 they’ve dubbed The Void Engine.
  • The game takes place 15 years after the original.
  • After the events of the first game, Corvo was concerned that at some point, people would attempt to assassinate Emily. As such, he spent said 15 years training her how to be a magical assassin like him whenever she wasn’t too busy being Empress.
  • The game starts out with you playing as Emily during a coup d'etat and having to escape.
  • Afterwards, you choose whether to play as Emily on her quest to reclaim her throne, or as Corvo with the same objective.
  • “When fans found out they could play Dishonored 2 from the perspective of Emily Kaldwin, they were overwhelmingly positive. "The response was stunning for us,” Smith says.“
  • The game starts and ends in Dunwall, but the rest of the game takes place in Karnaca, which is inspired by Mediterranean European countries and is the birthplace of Corvo. Karnaca is also where the majority of the game takes place.
  • There’s a bunch of stuff about their art design process in here. Let’s just suffice it to say that if you liked how the first game looked and how the universe was, you should be satisfied here.
  • Anton Sokolov is back.
  • The plot setup for how missions works sounds pretty similar. There’s some public figure doing bad things and you get information/help from other characters to help in your goal of taking them down.
  • The guards are a lot smarter this time and can also do things like vault around and scale objects to chase you.
  • Emily has a new set of powers. Far Reach is this giant hand grappling hook thing that pulls you around. It’s like blink, except you actually physically move across spaces, so guards can notice you. Far Reach can also be used as a weapon by swinging around environment objects.
  • The game is a lot more vertical so these movement abilities are especially important.
  • You can do non-lethal aerial takedowns.
  • Missions have various options for completion and progression throughout, much like the previous game.
  • You can use guards as human shields.
  • Non-lethal/stealth options have been expanded quite a bit to be more up to par with the amount of lethal options.
  • Another one of Emily’s abilities is Mesmerize, which stuns multiple guards temporarily.
  • You can puts guards into beds to avoid suspicion.
  • There’s a bunch of difficulty sliders for things like how visible you are in cover.
  • There’s quick saving/quick load in all versions of the game now along with checkpoints so you don’t risk losing much progress at any given time.
  • Coy non-comment about mods. Please download Bethesda.net™.
  • Another of Emily’s powers is Domino. You link up to four guards together, and then whatever happens to one guard, happens to the rest. For example, if you link four guards, and then lead one into a stun mine, all four are stunned.
  • This also works with Doppelganger, where you create a clone of yourself, then link it to the guards, and blow up your own clone.
  • Emily also has the Shadow Walk ability which lets her slink into shadows and squeeze into tight places.
  • Some of the missions have neutral areas where you can go around and talk to the various citizens to get a feel for the city and hints toward your mission.
  • Your base of operations is a boat.
  • Batman Detective Vision returns.
  • Both Emily and Corvo have a pistol, sword, and crossbow, but they look different. Also they have different end game upgrades to the items.
  • Corvo has the same powers as the last game, but they’re upgraded and expanded.
  • Corvo is voiced by Garrett from Thief because Harvey and Raf like Thief and this game has obviously ate its lunch.
  • Corvo’s Bend Time ability can now also fast forward time.
  • Corvo’s possession ability can now be chained between creatures.
  • The abilities now unlock in a tree.
  • Corvo’s blink can assassinate someone through a glass window starting at level 1.
  • The mansion from the trailer is an interlocking puzzle level where you pull levers and open new areas and all sorts of stuff like that.
  • The clockwork soldiers are now wood instead of porcelain, though it’s nice looking wood.
  • They’re trying to make the ending and morality systems less bad this time.

Very detailed updates. Wait, Corvo can fast forward time? I suddenly think of the Matrix and Far Reach makes me think of Half-Life 2's Gravity Gun. I like the idea of neutral areas, at least it allows either Corvo or Emily to interact. And Emily has a unique set of powers like Domino and Mesmerize. I'd like to see a demonstration of that.

I remember suggesting to a friend about using a boat as base of operations in possible Dishonored sequel, only it would cover the Empire and into Pandyssia, not just Serkonos, andi ts focus is consolidating the Empire.

By the way, where did you read Hellboy?

EvilDemonKitty In reply to EddyVance [2016-05-08 05:12:09 +0000 UTC]

I can't wait for a gamplay demo  I'd like to see the powers in action aswell. A boat would be a really neat base of operations. I also wanna see what Daud is up to. I think I remember reading a dev tweet saying he was sailing about after what happened in the dlc.

I have a couple of vols. Havent been able tobuy all of them sadly. I really wish there was a sub system like Marvel.

I'm a gun nut and I'm amazed at seeing some period firearms, thought few and far in between, in Baltimore. For instance, Lord Baltimore used his standard Webley revolver but in later issues, he's seen using a Colt. M1911. There's a few strips featuring a Lewis gun too.

I don't know much about guns tbh but I have looked through a book with different gun models some of them had really nice etched designs on them. I know there's a newish gun called the judge???? . it sounds so comicbooky like   judge dredd's Lawgiver XD

Yay, I really need to get back on track reading them. Ive been reading some russian comics lately from Bubble. Not many translated right now so I am seeing where they go.I also play way to much darksouls 3 in my freetime to read XD

EddyVance In reply to EvilDemonKitty [2016-05-26 02:28:31 +0000 UTC]

I see. Where's this Bubble? It sounds interesting.

What I'd like to see is the translation and the online posting of the Belgian comic XIII, which draws inspiration largely from the works of Robert Ludlum, particularly the Bourne Identity.

I've finish The Corpse and The Iron Shoes, moving on to the Wake the Devil arc.

Very interesting Russian comics... I hope they'll make an impact the way Metro 2033(the novel) did.

By the way, have you heard of Sakura Wars?

Well, Sakura Wars didn't bother me much a long time ago but looking back triggered my cynicism sensors, especially in the wake of reading Baltimore and War Stories.

I found a game set in the trenches of ww1 but it was very inaccurate and you are being chased by a robot raptor

EddyVance In reply to EvilDemonKitty [2016-05-30 02:04:51 +0000 UTC]

I think that was a scary sort of game. Oh yeah, there's a side-scrolling one called Valiant Hearts. Don't be fooled by the Franco-Belgian comic-style aesthetics, that game will break your heart.

I think the reason why I disliked Sakura Wars was the absence of WW1 and replacing it with some demon invasion. You see, the horrific tragedy of the Great War was the catalyst for our modern world. That and Japan wasn't so rosy during the real 1920s, soon after the war.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvilDemonKitty In reply to EddyVance [2016-05-30 06:28:16 +0000 UTC]

I liked the visuals it had. That hazy black and white. The background sounds were good too. I liked it when youd fletch at the debris coming down.
Oh I played valiant hearts it is a heartbreaker for sure.

I havent played through sakura wars so they just a demon war instead of ww1?Is it still a world thing or is it just japan vs demons? Dont they have multiple games? how does that set up the world after that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EddyVance In reply to EvilDemonKitty [2016-05-30 07:24:17 +0000 UTC]

It happened in Japan but it made an impact in the world. Steampunk mechas ridden by female pilots are rife in the series but the games are more like dating sims.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvilDemonKitty In reply to EddyVance [2016-05-30 07:49:55 +0000 UTC]

its it turn based like front mission?. The steampunk mechs part  sound cool, but I know I wouldnt be into it . The closest to a dating sims I've ever played was fire emblems style.
I have actually been looking into getting into more mech games lately.
