So, I went and I saw Tempest play tonight. Im going to see them again tomarrow.

Everytime I see them, I always think about that first time in Santa Barbara at the Celtic Festival where I saw them with you.

Hahah! That's EXCELLENT! I was just telling Rob about how I need to order more of their CDs and how I wish they'd play AZ. How were they? Amazing?

Even though I saw them one other time, I always think of when we caught them at the Celtic Fest, too! How lucky were we to catch that, huh?

They were amazing. And awesome. The fiddler danced with me and played the fiddle at the same time. Let me just say... HOT! I got their 15th Anniversary collection and their new CD (signed!)

Im suprised they don't have at least one stop in AZ.... huh....

Their bass player is awesome too. I had a great time. DAnced my fool butt off.

Amazing AND awesome! I read that they have their original fiddler back again, woohoo! He IS a hottie! Hehehehehe. That's what I plan to get this weekend, when we have a little extra money.

None! No stops at all! Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, yes, but AZ, nope! It's just not fair! ::

Well, you should email them and DEMAND they come to AZ!

I was considering it! But I keep trying to remember when I get home (I do a lot of stuff on the internet on my lunch break at work) and I keep forgetting... maybe if I find a string....

Oh wait its you!!! Holy crap.. I thought you'd dropped off the face of the planet! Oi vey.

I am doing okay. relationship's on the rocks, unsure of the future... but overall life is good. It is really really nice to hear from you again!!!

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 04:38:45 +0000 UTC]

So it IS me! And I DID drop off the face of the planet! A few times, even! Heheheheh. Relationships are what they are, and we're still young. No permanent damage, but I DO hope that it works out! (What relationship are you IN, anyway?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 04:44:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you made it back to the planet then!

Relationships seem to suck. I have really ungood taste in men, it seems. I've been seeing this young man for just over three years. And it's pretty much sucking right now. I am getting ready to move in a few months though! I'm not sure where, but I need out of humboldt county like burning. Either Seattle or maybe spend a year with Brady down in Ventura a half mile from the beach adn all. Tempting!

Gods its good to hear from you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:00:02 +0000 UTC]

Brady? Like, the Brady *I* know? That'd be weird. I mean, that after all these years, I'd know a name you referred to. No, that can't be it....

Good for you, though! Moving is SOOOOO good for the soul (or not, in my case... still in AZ, ugh). I just had another friend move to Seattle.... SCA, masseuse, and artistic, so I guess it's quickly becoming (already was?) the place for those kinds of things. Crazy! So, what about the boy? He staying, history, or coming with?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 05:08:58 +0000 UTC]

Yup, that Brady. Brady who just got MARRIED! I'm going down in October for the party.

Ewww, time to get out. You guys should come to Seattle too! I haven't done SCA in years, I should get back into it.

The boy... well... I am leaning more towards him being history. Things haven't been good in a while. I am sick of being 2nd chair to the video games. I just don't feel the passion any more, and I am so tired of having to do all the work. So. Probably history, but it's hard to say. It could turn around. He's cute, reddish hair... and I love him. I just don't feel important anymore.

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Good for Brady! Pass along my congratulations! I guess he is old enough to do those kinds of things, now. It's wild how folks you don't see never get older....

As soon as Rob gets his degree and we get some money saved up, we're gonna try to move to the Alameda/Berkeley area. I miss California SOOOO much!

Well, you know, when it's time to let something go, it's time. And I understand what you're saying about the video games... Rob just got some heat over that, too. What is WITH the video games! Ah, so I suppose the SCA thing is old on the list. Meh. Either way. ((GYAH! I keep getting send errors. ))

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 05:22:59 +0000 UTC]

I will tell him! And, if it helps, he doesn't really look any different than he did 7 years ago. We just had our ten year anniversary of being freinds. We celebrated, I went down for a week.

What is Rob studying? I got my degree two years ago.

Berkeley is nice! EXPENSIVE though! I am about 6 hours north of there. Stewart's family is from Pleasanton, which is sorta in the east bay area.

World of Warcraft is a major thorn in my side, and has been since the day it came out. Ugh!!!

I loved SCA until we lost the great hall and now its all in various pizza parlors or churches, places where you can't really get naked and drunk. Heh. And I just fell out of touch with the group that I was involved in.

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:28:06 +0000 UTC]

Wow... looks the same? 7 years? 10 years? That's almost too much! The things time does! Hehehe. I'm impressed, too, that you two keep in touch!

He's going Child Psychology, working on his BSW. We had to take a year off school (and start over, stupid AZ) when we moved because of out of state tuition, so we're a bit (by a 'bit' I do mean LOTS) behind.

Oh, so your boy's name is Stewart!? Crazy! Hehehehe.

Ah, I confess to playing the WoW, myself, but I have too much life-stuff to do to really get into it... but I've seen it do BAD things. I have another friend with a highly addictive personality. Her and her fiance (and son!) play WoW together... back-to-back in their office, all. the. time. It's crazy. But I have another friend who's trying to start a support group, so I'll get you the info if it ever happens.

Oh, yeah, that'll do it. Can't really do SCA in public places.... That's a shame to hear, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 05:33:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, his name is Stewart.

Thats really cool. What does he want to do with degree?

It does BAD things, I have seen whole marriages fall apart from the damned game. I've played it, and it's okay, but... I work full time, plus stage managing ballet AND having a social life and an art life. Oi. I don't have 8 hours a week to spend in a dungeon. Ick.

Anywho, I have been up since WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too early this morning. And so I must crash, I have work at 7 am tomarrow. ICK. It was great to chitchat. Do you have any sort of messenger? I am on AIM as accio brains. I am off for sleeping and I hope this isn't the last time for the next three years that I hear from you!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:50:16 +0000 UTC]

That's pretty ironic. The 'e' and the 'w' does weird things to Stews, though. Heheheheh.

He wants to help troubled children and adolescents with their various issues. Sweet, huh?

Seriously, it does REALLY bad things. I get about 4 hours in per week, only, since I spend all the rest of my time letting my art/internet eat my brain... and then there's work and school, so....

Enjoy work tomorrow! Vet, right? That's so awesome! I don't use AIM at all, just yahoo! messenger, and just rarely... though I might need to make an exception, now! Heheheheh. And we'll definately keep in touch, though... and if I fade off of here, I'm still reachable on my site.

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-08 00:20:43 +0000 UTC]

That is really really cool. Hard work but I am sure very much rewarding.

I enjoyed work today, it was SUPERDUPERCRACK busy! I'm on Yahoo! too every once in a while, i think my handle is "emosnowmew" We'll have to set a time to be on and chat.

I am having some freinds over tonight for tacos and to watch the movie Serenity, which is the fabulous Firefly movie. If you haven't seen that show, you should. One of the characters reminds me of you, and its a cheesey space western! how much more awesome could it be?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-09 00:35:39 +0000 UTC]

I find anymore that hard work isn't nearly as rewarding as it should be.

Woohoo for crack-busy! Hehehehehe. Short-seeming day, then, right? That's pretty cool! I'm on under the oh-so-creative name 'cpslimp' hehehehe. I'll watch for you, though! Normally, I only use it so I can chat with Rob when he's in the office (I computer in the bedroom, and he computers in the office on opposite ends of the house - and I'm lazy).

I HAVE seen Serenity! A friend of mine is a HUGE Firefly freak, so we watched the entire series on DvD AND watched Serenity, though I have to see Serenity again because I'm sure it'll make a lot more sense now that I've seen the series (did it backwards - oops!). I always thought that we should live in a space opera. The only issue being the whole 'space' part, but I think I could get over that pretty quickly. Have fun, tonight, though!

Are you kidding? I NEVER leave! hahaha... I've been on this site since like... 2001? 2002? It sucks quite often, but... at this point I've been here wayyyy too long to leave. Though I do have a gallery on a different site as well, where I get to post my adult art, which is cool.

I noticed that your pieces have gotten much more adult! Good on you, too! I'd say 2000 or 2001, really... like, WOW. And, recall, I've been off-planet, I have no CLUE what's going on.

Oh, by the by, Rob (my boy, you'll remember him), says 'hi!' Y'know, whenever I have those 'soundtrack moments' I think about you, too. And tend to regale folks with stories of how cool we were with the radio and the highway.

I do remember Rob (or I think Shannon still calls him "Shrub") Hi Rob!

We were so damned cool. Do you remember my dad freaking out the first time I went to Faire with you? Heheehe, I still tell stories about that. Ah, so many good memories.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:15:46 +0000 UTC]

'Shrub'? I remember hearing about that, but I have no idea where it came from.

Oh. My. God. The shear number of things that we made your parents freak out over. Hehehehhe. The Faire, your hair, the whole drama department and staying up late thing. Artistic cafes and long drives out of town... that trip to SF.....

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 05:19:43 +0000 UTC]

You were a horrid influence on me you know. Always telling me I was a good person and worth something and making me feel more independant! Gosh darn you!! It's funny, they ask about you sometimes. All of the freinds I had in highschool that they didn't like, they now wax nostalgic on. Its kinda funny.

Yes, I believe it's because when Shannon met him, he was hiding behind a shrub of some sort.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:30:59 +0000 UTC]

A terrible, terrible influence. And all that stuff about being good and valuable and what not... looks like it was all pretty darned true! And still is, even, just a lot harder to miss, now! I'm really impressed, though, Lady. Tear-worthy, even. And your parents always liked me, at least to my face. I just kept dragging you into trouble. Good, wholesome trouble. Heheheheh. Dad used to ask about you a lot, too, but his memory is going a little funny. He's a lot different than he used to be. Your folks still out in Alaska?

Ahhhh...! That would be it! He was a little creepy back then.....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-07 05:37:04 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.... Give him some love for me, will ya?

My parents are still up in Alaska, but dad now commutes to Indonesia. Month on month off. Our relationship isn't quite normal, but it's better than it was. My mom has really had a turn around with me. They even like my art, go figure. *shakes head* They're very supportive of my theater career and in me in general. My sister is engaged and she just moved into the house they just finished BUILDING!!! up in Alaska. Her sweetie is a really good guy and makes buckets of money (ha, go figure..) How's your bro Stuart doing?

Okay, now I am seriously going to bed!!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-07 05:47:22 +0000 UTC]

Ah, he's happy enough. Just weird. I'll pass along you love, though! I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it!

Wow, Indonesia...? How'd that even happen! And I'm glad you guys are doing better, now... there were some serious road blocks way back when. I'm shocked to hear that they like your art, though! They must have really opened their minds! Back in school, they would have had heart attacks! Heheheheh! So, hey, what DID you get a degree in, anywho?

Give your sis my congratulations! I bet she's changed just a ton, too... I still remember that whole Britney Spears thing... hehehehe. Stu's rebuilding. He just moved back in with the parents, and he was in a pretty good band, but I think they're breaking up, now.

Sleep well!

moredena In reply to EducatedSavage [2006-09-08 00:24:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, Unocal called my dad up one day and asked him if he wanted to interview for the job. He grew up in Indonesia, so he picked up the language again really quickly. He really really likes his job over there.

They do like my art, my whole family thinks I shoudl start making... greeting cards or something... it's not enough to just do art for fun, it should somehow be a marketable skill! where I can sell my souuulllll! I can barely do commission art let alone beocme a corporate whore.

I got my degree in theater with an emphasis in stage management. (talk about a mouthfull...)

I will tell her! She's changed... a bit. Matured would be a better word. She moved out for a few months and lived in SEattle and went to beauty school. She wants to open her own business at some point. But, I am unsure if it will happen, being as Jonathan wants like... 12 children.

Well, tell mr. Stu that I say hi!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EducatedSavage In reply to moredena [2006-09-09 00:31:34 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I didn't know he grew up there! How exciting for him, then! And how neat for your Mom that she gets the month on-month off thing! Hehehehe.

Bah, no need to sell your soul! You just need to find a cantankerous old lady who you remind of her younger self that has so much money and is so inspired by your work, she's willing to support you while you explore your creative nature. That's all. But they WOULD make some damn cool greeting cards....

Nice! Theatre is so freaking cool... and I can totally see you managing stage. Maybe not in high school, but definately now.

Well, good for her! If she manages to end up pretty much content, then she's done something right. And, who knows, maybe she's got the right of it and we're all weird and messed up. heheheheheh.
