I dunno really, but it's Latin fr something. I think it means dirit of the underworld? I just remember seeing it in my Myth And Symbol textbook and I liked it, so I said "MIIIIIINE....". You may now feel appropriately knowledged. xD
Ooh! I'm working on commissions all this week since it's my week off from school. Yu wanted your skyhound bird creature, yes? Any preferences for how I should sculpt it, like positions or attitude etc?

I keep forgetting about the other realms of DA...such as those filled with those who love animals in a different way than I expect sometimes.
Ah well I suppose. The world of the internet is filled with its different denizens...

Hey! It goes very well indeed. School takes up most of my time, what with classes and mentoring (and shortly, tutoring as well). LARP eats up another big chunk of time, leaving like, no time at all for a boyfriend!! Haha, but fortunately, I have a guy who's a larper too, so it's cool.
Anyroad, life's been good! How about for you? We haven't spoken in what, like a year?

Awesome! Thats realy good to hear that you are doing so well. School eats up a good portion of my time as well, Currently I am in training as an EMT and I am working twoards a journalism major . I have had so much fun this past year, I sort of just let myself loose.
Your a LARPer? omg thats cool. I have a couple of friends who love doing that stuff but its not quite my cup of tea. I would much rather it be real. Then again it does give me a good excuse to run around in one of my kilts or play with a sword.
Well I am doing just fine here in colorado despite the freezing cold weather. Now that I think about it, I guess it has been about a year since we spoke or at least a very long time. Oh I like your new art style, you know those realy cool paintings you did. They are sureal and just plain cool. Anywho it is getting a little late here so I got to run, take care out there in cali!

Oh wow, EMT!! The schooling has to be a bitch for that, huh? That's so cool that you're having fun with that and that you're doing whatcha love. How much longer do you have to go to school until you graduate with your degree?
Yuppers, a lovely little LARPer. xD Foam swords and chainmaile ftw! I have a big weekend event coming up in a few weeks and my character is from a pirate nation. It's epic, and my 'special ability' is to insult people and stun them. Hahahaaaa, nerdy much? (=
Sheesh, silly cold weather! I actually miss it from time to time. Having it hot here gets sorta boring after a bit, but I love the sunshine. Lol, those paintings were a bitch to do...I have some other ones that I've made since my class but nothing worth posting since it's poop. I'm working towards a better art style that's more industry friendly because right now...i suck. Hard core suck. At least in comparisson to my fellow classmates, that is.
Yay, I gotta go to! I have to get started on dinner now. Alex is coming over to meet my grandparents tonight and I'm super jazzed. Catch ya later Aaron!

Schooling for EMT is such a pain, anything below an 80% is failing. There is sooooo much hard work involved and you see some pretty disgusting things. But it is fun, I figured mine as well have a good job when I transfer out to california. I still have a couple of years left before I finish my BA. I switched to a journalism major and I am lovin how easy it is. Plus I took up painting and music on the side.
Chainmaile and Pirates sounds like a lovely combination . Anyways what kind of pirate would you be with out a nice fowl mouth .
Those paintings are awesome! I wouldn't compare yourself to your classmates, that never turns out good and then you just try to be them instead of yourself. I can understand why the market for anthro and animal art isn't that big outside of the fandom. In my opinion do what your good at and work on improving what you need to improve. What is your degree anyways? I think you would make a pretty good game designer.
you have a good one, TTYL.

Sheesh, brutal! Most times I squeak by with an 80% or better on my projects, but a few of them have been a little 'lackluster'. So you're coming out to Cali then, eh? Maybe I'll see you then! Chances are I'll be sticking around for a good few years to come, provided I can find a job with a decent paycheque. Journalism sounds cool too. What sort of stuff do you like to write about? Man, I took up creative storywriting this quarter at school and it's a helluva lot of fun.
Lawl, you should hear me at school. I'm a pirate EVERY day in that case. Thats what I get for dating a sailor! I'm totally dressing up like a pirate this Tuesday with some friends from school. It's our 'end of quarter' tradition.
Nah, the paintings aren't. Trust me. I didn't get more than a C on any of them. (; The teacher used to work for Disney, and he was in charge of painting all the intricate backgrounds, so he knows what makes a piece good! There was some exceptional talent in my class, and there's a lot of good stuff coming out of that class this quarter too, so I need to step up my game and get to practicing.
Bleh, anthro art. I've given that up. There is absolutely no room for it in the industry, or any industry for that matter. Plus, furries and the like sorta creep me out in a bad way. Animal art is iffy; there aren't too many plain auld animals in games really, save for a few crappy ones. Now, weird ass shit, hell yes there's a market for it, but not as big as humanoid artwork. Costume design is what really challenges me, so I've been practicing with thumbnails. I was going to take concept art this quarter, but man, the work load is crazy. 480 drawings due the first week?! HEEELL no. I'm taking it in a few quarters though, when I get better.
My degree is for Game Art and Design. I've made a few analog games already for a class, and I have Level Design coming up next quarter. We get to use Unreal to make our levels and for our final, everyone logs onto someone else's level and plays their game! It sounds like a very fun class and I can't wait to take it. After I graduate though, I think I want to specialize in Texturing and Mapping. I thought maybe rigging at first, but that class KICKS MY ASS every single day I'm in it, so no, no more rigging if I can help it! It's fun once you get the hang of it, and it's bitchen to see your 3D models come to life, but heaven forbid you screw up one thing...your whole assignment gets fucked over if ya do.

Yeah it is brutal in more than one way. That I am, I was accepted at USC for the fall semester but I am still trying to swallow the bill of 50,000 big ones a year. Who knows you might see me, I have so many friends who live in california. See that is the hard part about living in cali, it is so hard to find a good paying good that is even half way decent. I hope that I can get a job as an EMT when I move out and then switch to some sort of journalist when I finish my degree. EMT isn't that bad of a job actualy, you get something along the lines of 16-17 an hour out here and I am sure more in California. I like to write about travel, entertainment, fun stuff in general as long as it is not politics or anything depressing.
Lauren the pirate, now that could take some getting used to. Are you going to go pirates of the carribean style or more tradditional pirate. Speaking of sailors, how is Colin? oh and did you know that Cory is now in the middle of the ocean. God he is probably the most undisciplined person I have ever known and now he is in the navy.
Damn the teacher used to work for disney? thats crazy! I think with some practice you could get up to that level .
That is true there isn't any real industry out there for anthro art. I agree with you totally about furries, I went to one con because I had an interest for a while and they are totally wack. You should do some surealist style paintings, I think that style would suit you very well. 480 drawings in a week omg, I probably couldn't do that many in a year.
You know I was origanally a game design major but it wasn't really for me. I actualy got to work with the unreal engine and I programmed a bit in DirectX. It is a lot of fun but a ton of work. Texturing and mapping is fun but it can get a little monotonous at times. I personaly preffer working with the physics engines and the lighting effects. I think you could do pretty well with the rigging. What program do you guys use?
TTYL and have a good evening
