Hello there everyone, My name is Julija, I represent the Ports of Klaipeda, I really hope you do enjoy my views and cruise ship delights. I am here to serve you with any information you need to know, why'll your here you will meet many new people and friends. All of you will be accepted!

Apart of the world renowned Klaipeda ports, successfully exporting oil throughout the Eastern Europe and the best Port on the Baltic Sea~ Her ports are also known for their tourism and cruise ships.
HIstory:
Officially the city was founded in 1252 by Teutonic Knights. For almost 400 years, between 1525 and 1918, it was the Easternmost City of the Prussian Empire, interrupted by Swedish rule 1628-35 and Russian 1757-62.
It was administered by the French military on behalf of the League of Nations from 1918 with the aim of setting up an independent territory. However in 1923 it became part of Lithuania for the first time in its history after the latter took over the territory.
Lithuanians often say that Klaipeda looks more German than Lithuanian. Because indeed it does, there are more redbrick buildings and sloping roofs (take a look at the central post office) but to my mind, Klaipeda is more a mixture of post-World War II, Soviet era modernist buildings and standard concrete blocks alongside modern glass-fronted buildings. As a strategic port and a base for German submarines Klaipeda was almost entirely raised to the ground during WW2. One of Klaipeda’s newest sights are the D and K buildings – a hotel and apartment block – named after their shapes. They stand taller than any other building in Klaipeda and the views from the café at the top are fantastic – though the menu is less satisfying.
Today Klaipeda, Lithuania’s third city with a population of around 200,000, is a popular tourist destination. From here it’s possible to make the short journey to the Curonian Spit – an almost unique geological feature. or further up the coast to Palanga. In the summer, this town is all sea, sand, sex ((But Julija wouldnt do the sex part.)) and sun – probably in that order of frequency. The sandy beaches are wonderful and the Baltic Sea less salty than those that wash against Western Europe. In the summer months most of Vilnius moves here, including MTV who broadcast from the beach. In fact everyone moves here and ends up sitting in traffic for hours as the town’s population bulges and the road network fails to cope.
In the winter there’s definitely less sun and a lot less sex. On one particularly bracing walk along the beach the sea had frozen in large chunks, about a foot deep and several feet across. These mini icebergs rubbed together making a sound like grinding plastic as the lapping waves underneath gently lifted them up and down. Approaching the entrance to the port of Klaipeda was like witnessing a huge Slush Puppy. Fishing boats and cruise liners sailed perfectly normally across the dark blue and green sugary syrup in and out of the port.
If you needed yet more reasons to visit, on the northernmost tip of the Curonian Spit, a brief ferry ride away, is a Dolphinarium. You could almost be in Florida!
The Port of Klaipėda is the principal ice-free port on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. It is the most important Lithuanian transportation hub, connecting sea, land and railway routes from East to West. Klaipėda is a multipurpose, universal, deep-water port. 19 big stevedoring companies, ship-repair and shipbuilding yards operate within the port and all marine business and cargo handling services are being rendered.
The annual port cargo handling capacity is up to 40 Mt. The port operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all-year round.

Even in 1252, after having built the first Klaipėda castle at the mouth of the Dangė, the Seaport was developed, where merchant vessels (cogs) from Lubeck and Bremen used to moor. Kurenas and hoop boats, highly resembling the Dutch vessels, had been sailing in the Curonian lagoon since the XVI century. Trade was controlled by Hansa and its strongest representative Danzig in the Baltic Sea. Therefore, no wonder, that at the outset of the XVI century, when the wars settled down and the trade was intensified, Klaipeda was attacked by three Danzig vessels on an early morning of 1520. The town was set on fire and the mouth of the Dangė was overloaded with brought stones. So fiercely the Baltic Ports had been competing!
Klaipeda was further developing not only as a port with berths and public warehouses, where goods were delivered from Prussia and Lithuania, but also as a ship-builder. The first sea ship was built in Klaipeda in 1549. The Port was also famous for ship masts – tall and straight logs, cut in Lithuanian forests, were of a huge demand. In 1786 the ship builders’ workshop was founded and 5-6 sail ships could be built simultaneously, which were famous for steadfastness. The last sail ship was built in Klaipeda in 1878, when the sail ships had been supplanted by fishing cutters and large steamers.
Klaipeda port infrastructure was developing during the XVII-XVIII centuries, when the fairway was marked, berths were constructed, the lighthouse was lighted in 1796, ballast berths were erected in 1784-91.
In 1990, after Lithuania regained its Independence, Klaipeda Port was included into jurisdiction of Lithuania and the State Seaport
Sweden occupied Klaipeda State Seaport several times from 1629 until 1635 during the Polish-Swedish War and the Thirty Years' War. After the Northern Wars, the Treaty of Konigsberg divided revenues from Klaipeda State Seaport with Sweden. In 1660, Prussia gained independence from Sweden and Poland. In 1678, Swedish troops invaded the area but could not capture the fortress of Memel.
Relations outside of rp ((as in real life historical relations))
Turkey: Klaipeda ports and Sfax ports in Turkey seem to have a relationship between the two. The captain of one of the ships had commented on how wonderful the old klaipeda town was, and its ports.
Though was dissatisfied on how much cleaning services were.
Belarus: Is the Klaipeda ports closest exporting and importing partner.

*Julija has a real joy of giving people tours of her place, since there is actually a quite bit more to see than some might think
*Her favorite things to do nowadays are sailing on boats, do a small bit of fishing here and then. And then finally seeing all the countries that she sees while she is off exporting around Europe.
*Julija has a Sense of pride in her work, and never could let anyone tell her differantly.
*Unless someone calls her emotional hothead, she severely hates this stereotype put down upon her and The lithuanian population, she will be in a better mood.
Name meaning: The name Julija in the Lithuanian language means, Youthful, contributing to her teen-looks. Even though she is supposed to look much older. Her last name is Vyatautas, or also the last name of a one DUke of Lithuania. A national hero back then and is a bit of a common last name for some families.
Personality/Info
She is also a dance lover, so while on one of her cruise ships you might just enjoy seeing her dance during the annual Sea festival. It is usually on July 29th to the 31st. It attracts hundreds of people every year!
And is known to be a very attractive port~~ ene
Ask her nicely, maybe you will just get a chance to get a tour from her. She is known to give the most of them. And if not she will gladly give you a tour guides who know many differant European langauges. These range from English to Swedish.
You will see many differant things surrounding the ports, and even get to go into the old town Klaipeda, where learning about the culture is quite an excite! And maybe take you to get 'baltic gold' on the seaside. though this is not real gold, this is actually sea-amber. But there is a large amounts of it all over in the water. Its quite interesting really. ANd it might not get you to completely rich. but it at least will make a bit of time valuable for coming.
