I liked the pictures you drew of Gene Kelly and Judy Garland in "The Pirate", one of my favorite musicals.Β

There is a line of "toss-off" dialogue that Gene Kelly has that always amused me.Β If you remember, Judy learns that Gene has been lying about being the great, bloodthirsty pirate "Macoco", and she teaches him a lesson in part by pretending that her sexual attraction for him is pegged only on his being a pirate, and she really has no times for actors or performers.Β A down-fallen Kelly tries to make up for this by stating that he does have a newspaper clipping from the "Trinadad Clarion" comparing his performing powers to David Garrick (then the leading Briish actor of the 18th Century).Β Judy dismisses this.Β

Ah yes! I do love that bit. I think my favourite part though is just after that,
their fight scene, or throwing scene I suppose. I just love how she throws
everything in the room that she can grab! Must have been an interesting
scene to shoot
