Hi, I saw your forum post but didn't want to post there--it's too public--so I'll just say something on your page and hope you won't mind. I think in your case, you've just got to do what you've got to do. I've been hospitalized before, though against my will (in which case it may be worse), and at the time it did feel like I had said goodbye to normal life for good. Many years have passed now, and many things I thought might happen did not happen. People who knew didn't trust me to be on my own in the beginning, but they eventually did when they saw that I truly got better. As long as you can get better, there's no reason why your family should keep watching you forever. I think you should talk to your doctor/therapist/psychiatrist first, if you trust them enough. Depending on your case, you may not even need to do it "full time". There are partial hospitalization programs, where you go in for treatment during the day and go home at night. If you enroll in one of those your family may not be too concerned. In any case, please do talk with your doctor and I hope you'll feel better eventually! It's hard, but things will get better in the end as long as you don't lose hope. <3
