You're very welcome! I actually wanted to post a comment on your fabulous one-shot, but I was in a rush and had to settle for a fave-and-run. Well, I suppose it wouldn't do any harm to post that comment here, if you don't mind:

I most heartily agree with the others on this: this is definitely one of the most heart-wrenching pieces I've ever read! I've always loved these kinds of stories that evoke this kind of bittersweet emotion, and your style of writing definitely brings it out nicely. I enjoyed it very much, and I honestly believe it is well worth more than a simple fave. I'm glad you consider this piece in particular as special, for it is a very special one indeed!
