I miss you
But I haven't met you yet
So special,
But wouldn't recognise you yet.
And, if you believe in dreams
Or what is more important.
But a dream can come true.
I will meet you.

I don't know if you've ever watched Breaking Bad or not but I'm sure you'll find this scene to be a bit humorous being Star Trek related and all.Β

Have you seen Hannibal? I feel like you would like Hannibal.
Β
Also, there's an episode of Star Trek that has an incredibly strong "We Need To Abandon The Idea Of God/Gods In Order To Progress" message, I think you'd like it. It's Who Mourns For AdonisΒ

Never seen it. I think the most we have in common are cartoons rather than anything live action unless you count movies and such.Β
There's also an episode of Star Trek called Who Watches the Watchers (I think) where Picard must convince a primitive race of people that he wasn't a God. I'll try to find the episode you listed though.Β

I want to finish TOS before I move on to TNG but I'll check it out.Β

In all seriousness, I liked the star map the main character had. Kind of like the one in Prometheus only...you know...the rest of the movie didn't blow.Β
Have fun with that.Β

It's kind of unfortunate that Disney isn't doing hand drawn animated films anymore. Just because CGI films are easier doesn't mean you should do only those.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
FlyingPenguin567 In reply to Marsmar [2013-08-26 00:48:02 +0000 UTC]
Well, the official statement is they aren't doing any hand drawn PRINCESS films anymore....but yes, I completely agree with you. I miss traditional animation...I know that CGI can be beautiful at times, and very difficult if you want to do it RIGHT, but sadly, most of the time anything in CGI could have easily have been done in 2D and would have looked SO much better.Β
A film like How To Train Your Dragon needed to be CGI to convey the feeling of flight....unlike Tangled, which was only CGI animated because it attracts wider audiences.

Marsmar In reply to FlyingPenguin567 [2013-08-26 00:59:06 +0000 UTC]
I mean, Disney has pretty much the best CGI cartoon team one can hope for but they'd fare much better if they also had a hand drawn animated team on standby when Pixar is at its slowest (Like when they need to make a Cars movie to rack on a bunch of money).Β
I'm hoping that other studios will eventually step in and fill in that roll of Disney doesn't but until then we're pretty much stuck with CGI for a long while. I mean, there's rarely any actual actors or sets in films anymore since everything can be thrown in using CGI these days.Β
