Hey, I am indeed a scalie too! Though I was once worried about any sort of stigma attached to it but not anymore really. I mean you can be decked out with dragon apparel and no one bats an eye! It's great!
My main concern with the anthro community is that I'm not part of the LGBT community, like at all. I sorta feel like there's some sort of unspoken rule that you're not a real furry/scalie/whatever if you aren't. I'm here for the love of fantasy, for art and stories and not some wish for my characters to become the next internet pornstar. I've seen some pretty messed up things out there (and I don't mean orientation, but other things which I wont say here). Not saying I've never drawn nudes, but I have never done anything downright pornographic. I'm also 28 and I realize now that I wasn't into the anthro community for that crap anyway. It all started from wanting to play as non-human characters in video games because I'm human in real life, so why would I want to be one in a video game? I guess that's enough ranting about the community to you. Anyway, welcome to deviantart!
"at times can be an obsession so you will most definitely find my page plastered with dragon art or all sorts."
Same for me lol
I have many of the same interests except for boy bands (Backstreet Boys and N-Sync? Really, to each their own, not judging). I'm more into sci-fi than straight-up fantasy (which is why my scalesona is actually an alien rather than the whole overdone Earth populated by anthro animals thing). Not saying I don't love pure fantasy, though. You could blame Elder Scrolls for starting the whole obsession. I even have a boxed copy of TESII: Daggerfall for DOS (I'm such a nerd that I even play it on a real DOS computer, beige box and a CRT monitor!) You username sounds like an Argonian name (was it?). My last Argonian character was named Dragon-White-Feathers.
"maybe someday I'll take up drawing again when I can stop judging every little detail I don't like about it."
Definitely do! I don't draw as much as I should as I'm working, and on top of that I'm programming a video game, recording music, writing a story based on my video game, and also playing video games! And if you think judging every little detail about a drawing was bad try that with music. It took me a bit over 8 years to truly get to the point where I was satisfied with the quality of my music. Practicing any art takes time to get really good at!
Anyway, welcome again to deviantart!

Well hello there, now to be honest I am surprised someone actually took time to read my profile ^-^ I too started the obsession with elder scrolls as well though I didnt play Daggerfall when it released and didnt try it til 2012ish. I started with Morrowind when it released in 2002 and that is when I got the name Gold-Throat too (so yes my name was originally an argonian one). I have been poking around the furry community a little and I agree most of it does seem LGBT+ but then again that doesn't bother me much being bi myself. Sci-fi and fantasy are both things I love, I just tend to flip flop back and forth depending on my mood.

I would have been 5-6 when Daggerfall came out so I didn't play it on release either. My family's only computer was a Mac from 1992. (I was a console gamer up until around 2008). Skyrim was actually my first Elder Scrolls game, then I played Oblivion, then Morrowind and finally Daggerfall. I did try Arena but I could not figure out how to get out of the starter dungeon. I also used to be in an all Argonian guild in ESO until everyone quit. I really hope TES:VI is going to be good... oh and I normally don't take the time to read profiles, it just caught my eye. Most profiles don't have that much written in them.

Lol, I was only 8 when I played morrowind. It was my dad who introduced me to the series then, since then I was hooked to it. I was in a few argonian guilds but either they were a large harem in the end or it wasn't active. But I do hope TES VI is not a disappointment either, in the mean time I have other games to play or keep an eye on for release. Thank you so much for chatting with me, don't really have anybody I do chat with seeing as I am still so new on DeviantArt.
