Hey, I know it's been a while...but I remember you telling me you're Brazilian and I remember talking about it. Anyway, I just wanted to know if you are okay because a lot of shit is going down in Brazil right now. American media isn't talking about it and so thus I found out through tumblr (part of the reason we are so ignorant is because our media selectively shows us things). It's outrageous what is going on, and the whole paving for the Olympics is as well. Like I said, I hope you're alright.

Thank you for your worry. I'm alright, but the country is a mess right now. I know people that are not so fine with it thought, but I'm ok because I didn't go to the protests. Things were nasty here. People went to the governor's house and tried to break in (that is near where I live, so I could actually see five or six helicopters through my bedroom window), in Rio they went to prefecture and broke everything too. People are closing the main avenues and important roads and stuff, and that's in the whole country. Chaos.
But people are fighting for a good cause (some). We're tired of this terrible government, that only steal money from the people and do nothing for the country (we have a serious problem with corrupt politicians here). It all started with a raise (another one) on the price of the ticket of the bus and subway. Since it was already too expensive, people went to the streets to protest against it. But, when that happened, our police used unnecessary violence. A lot of people got hurt, and than shit got serious. Now people want the end of corruption and a lot other politics stuff that are little complicated to explain, but mainly that's it.

That really enrages me to no end. I feel bad that i'm not actively involved in trying to change the government because i am so adamantly opposed to their corruption, but i suppose it's safer to just not intervene. But still oh my God this needs to stop. I'm glad you're safe. I hope things get better.

Thanks for the support. You can help by spreading the truth for those who actually believe in what they see in television. That alone would be a great help. I would go to the protests if I could, but my parents wont let me. Is quite dangerous. But things are getting better, I guess.
