Not much at all going on here. I just rolled out of bed a few minutes ago. Probably going to go to the gym and then get some lunch. Don't have to be at work until later today, so going to enjoy my morning off while I can.
And thanks. That's an old photo, but one of my favorites. Figured I'd leave it up -- after all, how am I supposed to lure in the cute girls from London?

Haha, if only you knew my schedule you wouldn't know how lucky I am. Monday through Friday I wake up at 4 AM and go to work by 5 AM, working until usually 10-11 PM with only an hour split up for lunch. I'm lucky to get 4 hours of sleep a night by the time it's all over.
You are, from what I can see. I'd probably flirt at you and talk about your accent. I don't know anything about London except that it produces pretty girls like yourself, and that you guys like tea, and that your sailors are just as rowdy as our sailors.

Oh shit, you have a mad schedule. how can you run on 4 hours of sleep
Americans are really big on the english accent; just to let you know, not everyone sounds like the queen haha, but I dont think I sound too bad. Yep we like our tea and biscuits and sandwiches. I dont know too much about the sailors, I dont know anyone who is a sailor actually, other than you
where about in America are you from? like a big city or rural area?

Yeah. There were a couple of nights when I was doing a different job in the Navy that I spent two days straight without sleep. I was pretty much a walking, talking zombie at that point. Hah.
Well, if I had to pick, I'd choose the Australian accent. When I lived there, I was in love with every girl who spoke a word to me. And so tan! Ha. I'm sure you sound just as pretty as you look. Obviously, I like my tea too.
I ran into a few different sailors. A bunch of English sailors were training with the Aussie ones in Fremantle, and I got to encounter them getting absolutely crazy. This was before I was a sailor myself, but I was destined for it anyway.
I'm from Texas, ye haw. I've lived in big cities and small little towns. I guess I'm from everywhere in Texas. Moved around so much as a kid it's kind of a blur.

Woah, I would love to travel the world for job. But no sleep for 2 days thats crazy!
My best friend moved to Hilary's in Perth and when I visited her we went to Fremantle; we went to this big indoor market. I liked the accent but after being out there for months I just wanted to go back home and listen to a londoners voice haha.
I hope I dont sound really stupid but what do you do as a sailor? like when theres not a war. Do you train on the boat for long periods of time? or just train at home?
oh lala Texas. All I know of Texas is; texas chainsaw massacre and cowboys LOL thats really bad I should know more

lemontea In reply to GovnaHaveACuppa [2012-01-30 02:05:30 +0000 UTC]
Ah, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. I've been to that market a million times. They have a little sushi stand there that is delicious and at the end of the day you could get all the breads and meats and fish dirt cheap. Good place. Down the street from that is the Newport, my favorite crappy bar in Fremantle, and Creatures Brewery across the park. You have no idea how much I miss that place.
Well, sailors, unlike soldiers, are always going on deployments regardless of if there's a war. Our job is to be everywhere, all the time. But, right now, I'm on shore duty. I'm a nuclear engineer for subsurface propulsion plants, meaning that I make sure the nuclear reactors don't go boom in the submarines. Pretty complicated job so we have about two years of engineering training on top of our regular Navy duties.
That is a good image of Texas. Haha. I do have cowboy boots in my closet, after all.

Yeah I went a couple of years ago and the food is so fresh and just soo yummy
I didnt really look around Fremantle, I didnt have enough time. If I go back I'll try and look for your 'favorite crappy bar' haha
Woah so being a sailor is a job 24/7. Nuclear engineering sounds so fun, like I understand it can create havoc, but its the future! and the amount of energy being used is super powerful its amazing.
Well I'll have to see you in your cowboy boots, to make sure you are a real texas lad haha

lemontea In reply to GovnaHaveACuppa [2012-02-11 20:41:32 +0000 UTC]
It's a great place. I always look back on it and smile, then get sad that I'm so far away. Ah, memories!
Yep, we're always working, whether out to sea or home on base. As long as you're getting a paycheck, there's something to do. Nuclear engineering is definitely the future of power, whether people like it or not. It'll get more and more efficient as time goes on I'm sure.
Ha, I tried to find a photo and couldn't. Guess you'll have to take me for my word for now!

Yeah I agree, Nuclear power is more efficient and will get get even better.
I trust you dont worry

Haha, well, I'd take over protective boyfriend. Hope I'm not old enough to look like a dad yet! Ha. And yep, all real. Over here you can just walk into a store and buy them haha. Kind of a different culture here, huh?

GovnaHaveACuppa In reply to lemontea [2012-02-15 17:03:21 +0000 UTC]
Lol yeah over protecting boyfriend is better and no, sorry you dont look old enough to be a dad
Thats so weird, so like in a parade of shops they'll be a gun shop? Thats so unusual. Are gun shops seen as the norm then? like the same as a book or candy store?
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to GovnaHaveACuppa [2012-02-16 00:38:40 +0000 UTC]
Haha! Good! I don't want to feel too old!
Well, I've never seen a gun store next to a candy store, but I have seen one next to a book store. It's our right to own them, with some restriction, so it's pretty easy to get ahold of one. Takes about 20 minutes and you'll be cleared to buy a handgun or a shotgun. Every town has a couple, I suppose. Usually a range around too. Military towns tend to have a few more, of course.
