Matthew was standing outside the American's front door "Al!-" with his gloved hand, the blonde knocked on his brother's door and then pushed his both hands into his pockets to keep them a little bit warmer.
Anyway, his visist had a purpose. He wanted to hang out a bit more with Alfred, he wanted to do brotherly stuff with him. He hoped he wasnt too busy, though.

Alfred was babysitting a friend's 2 young golden retriever dogs. It was the dogs let Alfred know that someone was at the door, he was busy playing video games when they picked up their heads and started to bark. "Coming" he said through chorus of barking as the dog's tried to beat him down the stairs,"WAhhh Dog-valanche!!" he made it to the door and opened it thinking it was their owners coming to pick them up. "Release the hounds!" before seeing who it was "Mattie look out!"

His violet eyes widened a bit when Alfred warned him to be careful, stepping away from the door just to be sure that he wasnt going to be attacked by something. He was expecting to see something huge to knock him down, but when he finally saw what was keeping Alfred some company, a soft chuckle escaped from his lips.
Matthew took again a few steps back, pressing his pet bear more against his chest "oh wow.. Are their yours?"

Alfred pulled the over excited dogs away from Mattie By their collars, "They're friendly don't worry, they're just a little crazy, you know how golden retrievers can be, they're harmless. I'm dog sitting for friend. They should be going home in a bit." Manages to shoo the unruly dogs back into the house, "Come in. If they bother Kuma I'll put them in their crates." His place was never very neat but it is a little messier than usual.

"Oh-! Alright." he watched Alfred pull the two dogs away from him before stepping into his his house "I wanted to ask you if you would like to hang out with me but uh.. I can see you're already busy, eh" he cracked a smile and shrugged.

"No way, their owner is just coming to get them they don't have time to hang out, if anything I was just using the weekend to binge on popcorn, bad movies and videos games. Wanna join me?" He heads to the kitchen, "You want some coffee or something?"

The Canadian perked his brows up a bit and barely shrugged again "Ah well, I guess I can join you. I came to see you anyway" he slowly started to follow him "That would be nice, do you think it's safe enough to put kumajiro on the floor?"

Alfred makes an unsure noise as he grabs out the coffee from the cupboard, "they might annoy him, he they're kinda rambunctious, I'll go put them in their crates. You can put him down. I got this." He grabs a stack of papers on the table and shoves them out of sight before he leaves to put the dogs away their crates are in a back room. He gets caught up as he sees his friends coming to pick up the dogs. His kitchen again is more of a mess than than usual for him. There's a bottle of something on the counter but it doesn't look like it's from any official's dr's office. He comes back, "The dogs are gone, we can chill now. Coffee or do you want something else?"

The corner of his lips twitched a bit as he glanced around the kitchen, noticing how messy it was. Well, probably he didnt have enough time to clean his house since he needed to take care of the dogs- a sigh left his lips when he sat Kuma on the floor.
"Maybe I should help," he mumbled to himself as he picked up the bottle, furrowing his brows a bit. Wasnt he too young to own a bottle in his country? He was also with an empty cereal box in his hand when Alfred finally came back "huh? I think a coffee is okay for now. Al, you really need to clean your kitchen.."

He rubs the back of his neck and huffs, "Yeah I kinda let it get ahead of me. Sorry about the mess." He notices he left the bottle from the lab out, he puts on the coffee and as he passes he puts it in the cupboard out of sight, "You don't have to bother, I'll get to it later, we should spend time together. I missed our little talks." He grabs a couple of mugs out and a small bag of treats he keeps around for Kuma, "How have things been by you?"

"you know, the usual" he cracked a smile and nonchalantly waved his hand "nothing interesting actually happened to me, eh. And what about you? How have you been?" he set the cereal box and the bottle down.

He pauses for only a moment before grabbing a pie from the fridge and he smiles, "Things have been like totally awesome, I've been really busy lately. I called Artie n stuff but I guess they were to busy to get back to me. Heh I know Artie has his hands full." he puts the stuff on the table, "Hey do you have time to stick around for a while? Maybe we could go camping or maybe some ice fishing or something?"

He tilted his head slightly to the side and thought for a few seconds "hm..I think I have! Everything is under control, so I guess I can stay here for a while." with that, the Canadian's smile widened a bit more "I just need to call some people first to tell them that I'm going to be away for a few days."

He demeanor immediately brightens a couple of watts and he smiles, "Sweet! Hey you don't have to tell them exactly where you are, do ya? I was hoping to get away without my boss finding out where I am for a bit, I need a break."

He rubbed the back of his neck and pulled his phone out of his pocket "well, I can be vague-- wait a second." Matthew pressed some numbers before bringing the phone to his ear. He started fiddling with a sleeve of his hoodie as he waited for someone to answer his call.

Alfred tapped his fingers nervously on the counter he didn't want to have to explain to Mattie what was really going on, it wasn't his problem after all. But it was nerve wracking he found himself rambling, "Not that I'm hiding or anything, I just need a break, ya know? I don't remember the last time we went camping. It's been too long ya know?"

Matthew glanced over at the American when he started rambling and furrowed his brows a bit at him. He moved his hand to cover his phone and whispered "I mean, I wasnt even thinking if you were trying to hide or not. Did something happen, Al?" he uncovered again his phone and moved his gaze to watch Kuma eat some treats.
Finally someone on the other side answered the call

Alfred laughed nervously, "Happen? Noooo I'm fine. You know me, I'm always fine. I just haven't had a break in awhile, you know how I get when I get stir crazy, too much time inside gets to me every now and again." He cursed himself mentally at his own stupidity. "Can you get the time?"

He just watched his brother's strange behavior, discreetly rolling his eyes at his excuses. Of course he was aware that something wasnt right "Ah! Yes, hello!- It's Matthew" he held up his index for Alfred to wait a little bit and smiled when someone on the other side greeted him back. After a few minutes, explaning that he was going to be away for a few days, the Canadian finally hung up the call and turned to face the American "You can finally explain what is going on"

A wide smile breaks across his face again whatever was bothering him melts away, at least for now, "Awesome!!" He laughs, "Any preferences? Ice fishing, cabin, roughing it? I'm up for anything. Ohhh I can grab the plane I just refurbished and we can go someplace like an island or something. Wait you'll need like 60 gallons of sunblock..."

"wha--?? Wait, Al! You havent told me.." he shut his eyes and sighed. Well, maybe he just needed to wait a bit longer to figure out what he was trying to hide from him."Fine. I dont think we should go to an Island then. Im fine with the other options, though" his lips tugged into a smile.

He's barely listening as he starts to run over plans in his head, "We'll head to the cabin then, the one by the lake where we can get some ice fishing in." He says as he gets up and goes to the back room where he keeps his pack debating on what to take this time, lots of snacks, that's for sure, can't have too many snacks, "Do we need to run by your place to get anything?"

Alfred landed his Junkers F13 plane at the small local airport in the heart of Minnesota. The trip was part to check on Emily and part to get away from his boss, AND part a chance to just chill by the source of the Mississippi and get back to nature. He had to hide out until his next mission to the ISS in order to avoid his boss for as long as possible. Plus it's been ages since he spent time up here, it'll be nice to spend time with Emily again, the eastern states are nice but a lot more demanding. He got out of the plane and grabbed his bag as he dialed his phone to call Emily.
