High school is very scary sometimes but also fun

Just remember that it may seem like a while from now, but you'll be an adult VERY soon

I highly recommend getting your driver's permit ASAP so that you can get your license even sooner

AND get a job as soon as you can. Getting job experience early will help you in the future!

(And I know this because I didn't get my driver's license or a job until I was 18....)

i'm taking driver's ed next year ( mainly bc its required but im kinda glad ) and my mom is already offering to help me how to drive

i'm wanting to start looking for jobs next year, mainly because i'm really stressed out right now, mainly bc i'm trying to get used to the new environment, probably

i kinda miss middle school even though my 8th grade year was hell omf

I definitely remember the shift between Middle to High school... 8th grade was by far one of my worst years. And that's saying a lot because High School was pretty bad.

By your Sophomore year you should be getting used to the whole place :> It may seem scary for a while but you'll make it through just fine

so far, high school isn't as horrible as i thought it'd be
the only real thing bothering me is that i'm more lonely, kinda?
idk if it was the same for you but at my high school you have like,,, biology and history one semester and then english and math the next; i feel lonely mainly bc i have like one friend in all my classes rn lma o

my brother made it through pretty well, so i'm hopefully that i'll be fine ;v;

Those classes are considered core classes here, so we take them all year (Man I would've loved to have math for only one semester...)

Making friends is scary bc you're surrounded by people from different middle schools and different cities, etc.

But you'd be surprised; there may be many people who share lots of similarities w/ you!

they're called core classes here too; but i guess the only cool thing about that is that i get to take more electives; rn i'm taking french and art. i have french all year because fourth block is the shortest block here

As freshmen and sophomores, we were forced to take a health class and PE class for those two first years. WORST classes I've ever taken. I can't believe the things they're allowed to "teach"

After that we didn't need any more of those so we got to take more electives! Most of them were pretty boring but my favorites were Sculpture and Pottery c:

pe is required for all four years here; the only way to "get out" of it is if you're in band or you play a sport

Never taught me anything that I needed to know
So instead I would just talk to my friends who are 6+ years older than me :>

PE for four years??? No thank you I would join a sport over that. I actually really wanted to join the volleyball team..

I'm still in High School so I study everything that I am forced to
Luckily I'll be graduating at the end of the year
Meaning more time to plan a life on my own
In college I plan on studying criminology

Ah, gotcha. Well, I suppose there's a reason for that, but most of what I learned in high school was pointless. I didn't like most of the people or how I was treated. Thankfully, college is much more fun. I miss the social side of it, but maybe not essays and finals. Hah.

Criminology is a pretty interesting field. Any specific career path afterwards?

It's been really hard just to get a part time job lately
Places everywhere keep raising their expectations for employees even for the simplest jobs :c

Plus I won't be starting college directly after high school because, well, it's very expensive

Well, you'll figure it out. I understand about college though. I got out with 70k in loans, and I'm still paying them off now.

I tried to get a good job, and I'd be told I need 6 years of experience. Then when I got desperate, I tried for crappy jobs, and I was told I was over qualified. It's a drag.

Then I joined the Navy. Hah.
