Um, firstly, and most stupidly, I forgot about this program due to intense stress and changed accounts, so, I'm actually going to be more active on And, I'd prefer if we talk there.
Secondly, I'm 14 this year, My birthday was May 6th.
I'm an actor in my school's drama program, I have acted as Yorick in Hamlet, a Doctor, a Scrooge and a Robot for a play called 'Over the Wall'
I fell in love with poetry because of roleplaying, which turned to story writing, which evolved into stupid poetry, till where I am now!
I'm a homosexual, so, by default, I think Taylor Lautner is a fine piece of meat *coughs*
I'm also really deranged.

i can't believe you're so young. your talent in writing is incredible. i can only see great things ahead of you in the realm of writing. i'm 20 now and am just now writing things worthy of minimal praise.

I'm not particularly sure what to think of you. Whenever I read something, I find myself assessing whether I liked it overall or hated it overall. There is ALWAYS an 'overall'...but not with your stuff. It's very very grey and yet not grey, if that makes any sense.
Your work...intrigues me, I guess thats the right word...it's still not quite perfect, but I suppose sometimes there simple ISN'T a perfect word.
but, regardless of my ups and downs about you, im absolutely addicted to your stuff and can see a distinct future in writing for you.

I refuse to believe that you are just thirteen, just to protect my own ego. I associate with a lot of young (and by young I mean late teens-midtwenties)poets and I must say that you outdo a whole bunch of them. Your imagery alone puts your elders (me included) to shame.

For all you know, I'm 34 and I'm being possessed by Edgar Allan Poe.
Who knows?

To be compared in those dimensions is such sweet praise.

At 13 I was writing silly, shallow love songs and horrid poems about how much life sucked.
At 13, your writing brilliant masterpieces filled with symbolism and beautiful hidden messages,
And at 16 right now, i'm still writing crappy love songs. Continue writing dude, you got a damn bright future ahead of you.

I've enjoyed reading your work (and I have read a good amount of the pieces in your gallery, I just tend not to comment) in a way I haven't enjoyed unpublished writing in a while. Keep on writing--and reading, that's ever important to writers is it not?--you've really got a talent for it.

HarlequinnGun In reply to Longjump [2010-04-26 07:05:59 +0000 UTC]
Your comment made my day.
(really, it did, it's been really bad, so far)
As for your compliments, I have really loved hearing what all of you guys have said about my skills, and hearing it again and again is really comforting, as I know I have a future as a writer.
So, Merci

Also, I have not read a *real book for a long period of time, like, since 2 years ago.
*Decent.

Ahaha, I'm glad to hear it.
I'd imagine you hear how gifted you are often, hm? xD I'm glad to have had the honor of reading your work. Truly, an inspiration for all of us.
...you haven't read any good books? What is your excuse, may I ask? There are so many amazing works of literature out there, I mean... D:

I used to really love fantasy, but now, it's so tedious and boring.
I'm into romance now, read some popular books for the heck of it, Harry potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson, some Artemis Fowl, stuff like that.

Longjump In reply to HarlequinnGun [2010-04-27 21:21:49 +0000 UTC]
If you ever should need a book suggestion, let me know. I go through books like wildfire. xD I've read a little of everything, and a lot of fantasy. The librarian said I've checked out over 80% of their library in the time I've been at my middle school. xD
Hmm... well, I'd say that my favorite fantasy novels aren't all that popular. Few people have heard of them. My favorite have to be the Bartimaeus Trilogy (Jonathan Stroud) and the Pellinor books (Alison Croggon). Look for them if you ever get a chance. Both amazing series', written by just... inspirational authors. I hope I can aspire to be even compared to them someday.

Hey there, I'm going to need that 'book suggestion' thing now, care to share a few light reads?
If it's any help, I kinda liked Hamlet, anything by Edgar Allan Poe, and the Looking Glass Wars.
-the old HarlequinnGun (well, not really, 14 is still fairly young)

Longjump In reply to Unrequited-Ivy [2011-01-01 06:19:56 +0000 UTC]
Sure. Light reading... have you read anything by Markus Zusak? He's one of my favorites. Try the Book Thief or I am the Messenger.
And then there's my all time favorite author and series. Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaeus Trilogy (the Amulet of Samarkand, the Golem's Eye, and Ptolmey's Gate).
I'm not really sure what you mean by light reading, so if you were looking for something different, just let me know.

Reading over #theWrittenRevolution 's excellent review of your work, I was completely dumbfounded to figure out that you are thirteen and so talented. Most people your age are off writing fan fiction while you - dear sir - are writing such beautiful poetry and prose. Keep up the good work and I will most certainly add you to my watch list with pride!
My name is Annie (by the way) and it's nice to meet you.

Thankfully, when I turned fourteen, I started to write my own stories.
You're very welcome, darling.
You deserve every kind word.
And good luck on your tests. (:
